This is a good podcast, honestly. But I think we tend to overlook factors like jealousy and black people not being able to work together. I don't know if it is inherent or just a lack of understanding of each other's situation. The only societies we are good at are those that concern family ceremonies because... ae I don't know. But we overlook these bad inherent behaviors that deter us from succeeding as a black based community. We need to tackle those things first.

Penzo, my mother raised us selling food. I've been fascinated by that since a young age. When I was older I invested in the business while teaching her how to manage cash flow. As soon as she heard me saying that I'm gonna quit my work when the business grows, she ignored the teachings and deviated from our intentions because she believes that my work is better than what she does 💔

She is embarrassed for me to see her doing that street business. She doesn't know that she can make more money than me . While I am working for someone else.
@hellonomasonto

@@thaborantsatsi9479 I can understand this. Unfortunately, their generation was taught that a 'job' (office work) is better than entrepreneurship - which is exactly what uMama is, an entrepreneur! Black people were never supposed to be business owners; she's not looking at herself as a business owner, but just a 'seller.' She doesn't want you to quit your 'superior, educated job' for 'this.' I've seen it a lot. That is the mindset.

Great show gents, the one point I think you may have missed is that when your monetized podcasts, tik toks etc... bring in foreign currency, you actually help the entire South African Nation, because the more foreign currency you bring in the more the Rand gets stronger. If the country can bring in more foreign currency than it spends, the government can use the surplus as foreign direct investment and boost the overall economy... My life's experience says for SA to grow the economy it needs to just keep exporting goods and services and bring in foreign currency.

When you spoke about stockvels you touched on a very big conversation. My mom was always treasury of stockvels back home and during my insurance degree we learnt about cartels and mutual funds. 😭😭😭😭Our grannies literally are applying international financial standards at home. Unknowingly. With the amount of power small amounts from many people can give a community, we are not leveraging stockvels enough. Bitcoin is worth $1.5 trillion and its literally a global wealth preservation stockvel. Im running the numbers behind the question on why taxi drivers arent in trains and planes. Honestly, you have a fair point.

I like how Sbu mentioned the "behaviour" with money. As an entrepreneur myself I know the struggle of having belief systems that help you self sabotage. I think it's important to learn about how the brain works. How beliefs are created and can be changed. Sbu you also used to do videos while doing affirmations which you have now stopped I think. I think those videos were powerful and if aspiring entrepreneurs can listen to them and implement, many will realize a whole new world revealed to them. Otherwise thank you for going back into entrepreneurship talks because that's why I personally joined and sure many others.
