This does look like a sweet X5C type quad.. Really like that it has different flight settings. Great flyer with stunts to top it off. Even seems to have automatic motor protection, that may be why the motor stopped spinning and lights flashed when you had to reset it. Small SD card flaw. Overall a great Quadcopter. Nice flying! Excellent review!

I love the look of this, I've got the yellow one which I preferred over the green. Lipos don't last 30 cycles though, if even that. Over all vey good flyer for a 1s quad I found, especially in NO wind conditions.

That's one of the better quads I've seen Blade produce in a while. I love the white in front and red in back It looked like when you hit the ground and the nasty noise happened that were on the throttle while on the ground. if that is the case I wonder if it doesn't have a safety that shuts the motor down if it's on a bind.
@theimacman8 жыл бұрын
Hmm, I'm not really sure. I may have, because remember that the motor wasn't working right after that, and I had to restart the quad. So, maybe it just took a bit for the feature to kick in? I've never really experimented with that feature much, so I don't really know how to expect it to act.

Did you ever notice that that thing does diagonal flips? I love my Zeyrok. I have beaten the hell out of it and it still flies. I've cracked propellers and flexed the body and it keeps on going. After a hard crash it often will need to be restarted and rebound. It will act like you have blown a motor or something worse. But all is well as you have seen. Do you know of any other quads besides the Alias and this one that do diagonal flips?
@theimacman8 жыл бұрын
Whoa it does!? I did not notice that! That's pretty cool... I thought for sure the Alias/Aton were the only ones that did automated diagonal flips.

@ashermickey16477 жыл бұрын
The Lack of jello is pleasantly surprising, my x5c had a fair amount of jello and on a windy day it crashed and burnt out a motor after getting tangled in grass, so i ordered the x8hg because the legs are taller than the timothy grass, its gears are covered and is heavier so it will have more wind resistance.
@theimacman7 жыл бұрын
Yeah, usually when the camera is mounted as an integral part of the body, there is little to no jello, because the camera doesn't vibrate. It's when the camera hangs from a mount that vibration really becomes an issue.

Great review Ryan :) . Yes you are right . the micro sd slot is a b*****d to insert on my zeyrok and BTW be careful on the props . They fracture easily on this quad even if they brush a nearby bush just lightly . Be careful on high altitudes too . the wind can easily carry this thing to far off locations . lost my zeyrok because of that and awaiting a bnf with camera to replace the lost one Also it is recommended to replace the stock sandisk ultra with a sandisk extreme with higher mb transfer rate . check out my videos with my zeyrok as a comparison . Just hope if Blade refresh the Zeyrok next year , they do it with BRUSHLESS motors . I think you may have knocked a pinion out of alignment when it made that funny noise

My nephew lives across the street from me and he flies Blade (Horizon) helicopters but he can't fly them at night because they are not lighted so he just purchased the Zeyrok so he can fly with me at night (I fly a Bugs 3). I don't think I like that automatic flip crap. What if I wanna go full toggle but I don't want it to flip? I have to stay in slow speed? Chinese or not I think my bugs 3 will smoke this thing in every aspect, but we'll see I guess. Nice review and I subbed.
@theimacman8 жыл бұрын
Well, you can fly in high angle stability mode without the flip function, so then you can give full stick movements without accidentally flipping. And that is just as fast as the "stagility" mode with flips. And yes, the Bug 3 has brushless motors, so as long as it has a sporty flight protocol, it will almost certainly smoke the Zeyrok.

@theimacman8 жыл бұрын
I think it's the pretty standard sort of plastic that these things are usually made of.
@prowlus8 жыл бұрын
Not really . The plastic feels paper thin . If it hit a tree or lamppost , that will certainly split it
@theimacman8 жыл бұрын
Ben Foong Nah, that's not true at all.
@prowlus8 жыл бұрын
You sure . The plastic is very light and hollow to me . Id be afraid to fly it indoors . I've already lost loads of props because of that
@theimacman8 жыл бұрын
Ben Foong This is not an indoor model by any means. And, as I said in my previous comment, this plastic is the standard for this type of quadcopter... it has to be light, but it also has some give so that it doesn't snap in a crash. If you have any experience with similar models, like the Syma X5C, you will see that this is no different.

@theimacman8 жыл бұрын
Pretty much all quads are made of plastic, unless you're talking FPV racers. And, the price has more to do with this being from an American brand than anything else.

How is the video jello on this? I hardly see any in the vid. Every Syma I've owned has terrible jello.

What you see in my video is what you get. :) It's pretty jello-free because the camera is mounted into the frame, whereas the X5C camera hangs below the frame, allowing for more vibration.

I don't know Ryan I'm not too crazy about horizon Products anymore. To expensive. There's just too many other options out there. Although I always loved the blade Brand. Still have the original blade MQX, The quad copter that started it all. That was back when you had to have skills to fly. Lol
@theimacman8 жыл бұрын
Relatively speaking, though, they aren't any more expensive than any other American brand. You can't compare them to Chinese brands though, because Chinese brands don't have the same overhead in doing business, nor do they offer customer support or have to supply spare parts to hobby shops, etc. Sure, if you don't need any of that stuff, it's hard to beat the price on Chinese products, but it's simply not fair to blame the American products for the price difference. It's simply the best they can do in the American market. And Blade products still offer a lot of things the Chinese products don't, like flight modes and the ability to fly with a true hobby-grade radio (not to mention the superior flight protocol). :)
