Thankfully the transformation saved his life. The sped up metabolism of the hulk took half of the effects of the morphine away when he came back but he's still disoriented. It's amazing how he managed to find his way back to the matrix house.

Unlike the Comics and MCU Banner doesn't embrace the Hulk. in this version David sees the Hulk as nothing but a curse that's ruined his life. the only comforting things David sees about the Hulk is that he doesn't kill, has saved people and can deal with situations that David can't.

I hate that the series was cancelled rather then allowed to have a final season/series finale.
