Edom later was absorbed by the Jews under the Maccabees and many Edomites converted to Judaism. God did not hate Esau. Hate in the Bible is not hate as in a strong dislike but a favoritism of one over the other. Did God Love Esau, yes ,but he favored Jacob. Through Jacob would come the Nation of Israel. For example: Luke 14:26 26 “If anyone comes to me and does not hate father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters-yes, even their own life-such a person cannot be my disciple. Do you think Jesus wanted them to hate their families, No! The hate used here is favored. If you favor your family over me you cannot be my disciple was Jesus’ words. Much like in the Shema, you are to love God with all your heart, mind,soul and strength. God loved Esau and the Edomites. In Deuteronomy 2 God orders Mose in how to treat the Edomites. He wanted to be tender to Edom and no harm come to them. Deuteronomy 2: Then the Lord said to me, 3 “You have made your way around this hill country long enough; now turn north. 4 Give the people these orders: ‘You are about to pass through the territory of your relatives the descendants of Esau, who live in Seir. They will be afraid of you, but be very careful. 5 Do not provoke them to war, for I will not give you any of their land, not even enough to put your foot on. I have given Esau the hill country of Seir as his own. 6 You are to pay them in silver for the food you eat and the water you drink.’” 7 The Lord your God has blessed you in all the work of your hands. He has watched over your journey through this vast wilderness. These forty years the Lord your God has been with you, and you have not lacked anything. 8 So we went on past our relatives the descendants of Esau, who live in Seir. We turned from the Arabah road, which comes up from Elath and Ezion Geber, and traveled along the desert road of Moab. 9 Then the Lord said to me, “Do not harass the Moabites or provoke them to war, for I will not give you any part of their land. I have given Ar to the descendants of Lot as a possession.”( Lots descendants were given possession of land by God. Lot was Abrahams nephew). God told Mose to not hate the Edomites, for he is your brother and that any Edomite unto the 3rd generation could become part of Israel. God showed love to the Edomites. As a Nation they rebelled against God but so did Israel. Deuteronomy 23:7 - Thou shalt not abhor an Edomite; for he is thy brother: thou shalt not abhor an Egyptian; because thou wast a stranger in his land. Any Edomite unto the 3rd. Generation could become part of Israel by Gods commandment. Edom was later integrated into Israel and many converted to Judaism During the Maccabean wars ( 167-160 BC) the Edomites were subjugated by the Jews and forced to convert to Judaism. They integrated into the Jewish Nation and became Jews.

I am aware of the wide Jewish diaspora and how they were driven out of their homeland since ancient times when they were exiled by the Babylonians, to the middle ages when they were scattered all over Europe. A lot of European countries even tried to expell them out of their country like in England 1290 ad for example.
