Ellora caves is one example the whole thing looks like they had some 3D laser printer to cut rocks with so much perfection, angles, perfectly geometrical without any mistakes impossible with todays engineering skills only possible with some super human skills or super high tech technologies i dont understand how did these skills or machineries suddenly got lost completely it can be Mughals or Britishers but seriously makes me sad about it we lost indian Glory because of mughals T_T

It doesn't matter how well they preserve it or not. Its a cultural heritage of Indian people and should be with them, not in a UK museum. That Durga statue for example is from a Hoysala era temple which is still functional but misses that idol. There are tons of such things.

Yeah, Same that Vishnu statue is from Vishnugarh temple of bihar..Which is still functioning & very famous in b/w pilgrims here. That Sun statue is major part of our culture as well coz we worship both rising & setting down sun during chhath puja, it has great significance..we have several sun temples at major ghats as well.

This reminds me of Architecture of Akshardham, it has this type of architecture and the idols which was very mesmerizing, we could like see how beautiful vedic period must have looked like. If you guys haven't visited Akshardham in Delhi, I recommend you guys visit the magnificent temple, it's full of this type of architecture, and the over all vibe of that place is blissful.

@@IndianPolish - Same here I came to know once I visited Hampi and Belur of karnataka.Carvings are such as if they were carving butter not stones.Hampi is good place to chill also, loaded with historical place , feels like you are back to 1000 year old village with all beautiful temples and art surrounding you.Though we see what is left after invasions and destruction ....also post lots of smuggling but what remains is still too much to grasp innone visit.

Also ASI has neglected most historical temples. In Karnataka , Maharashtra there are 1000's of temples which no one cares and ASI doesn't bother because they don't generate revenue for them.

They stole is not forgivable but the fact that they did not destroy it & kept in museum for future preserving is good step acc to me

Not going to lie it is just sad to see all these, when majority of our people won't ever be even able to see such artifacts from our past. I read about an incident, I'm sure it was in Nigeria where a local tribe had literally no artifacts of them left. So students for a school trip to learn about their culture had to go to Britain or other european countries. I mean europe has done enough to wade of holocaust, literally wiping it of the memory, but the cruelties of colonization shines brightly in their museums. I'm sorry, but this is actually painful.

I do feel bad about it that its taken away from India, think about it from a different side, somebody is bearing the maintenance cost of it, which I think would be huge for such artifacts. A must visit in London if your an Indian then.
