Not exactly... Britishers were planning to transport Taj Mahal to London, but their rule ended and this project got scrapped... Another example, You can see a small hill which Britishers had bought from Iran, formerly Persia. And that small hill is nothing but an Agyari of Zorashtrians... So no doubt, if their rule would have extended, Today we would have been seeing Pyramid in London

I am also pained to know how much has been looted from India but at the same time, I am happy that they are maintaining these safely in a museum. We Indians are very poor in being aware of the value of our rich culture and keep neglecting temples , arts & architecture whatever left by our glorious ancestors. Let us all get united and force the Government & authorities to maintain & safeguard our culture symbols like temples, arts, etc

Just he alone... Unimaginable wealth was looted and Indians were killed. I was woke when i used to live in London and even visited this Museum but with a woke mindset. Thank you guys for the video. You reminded me of my last visit to British Museum in 2012. I was overwhelmed as well looking at the Indian collections there. Also, you will be fascinated to see the Egyptian collection at the Louvre Museum. They jointly took many of the artefacts from Egypt and distributed them among the British and Louvre museums.

Kashmir a good place to see the spiritual journey of the people how they went from snake worship to shiva to the brahmins trying to influence them to the people rejecting them to accepting buddhism to finally accepting as the full truth Islam. 2:45 Tipu sultans sword was made of 'wootz' steel which was precious steel with high carbon content only found in India, they also stole ring from his body after he lost a battle against British in 1799

I feel pain that our India craftsman who had made that sword was stolen by Britishers but I am happy that Britishers defeated tipu Sultan! Vaise bhi tipu sultan bhaut ghatiya admi tha.. Bhaut se baccho ko mar dia tha bas apni lalach ke liye.

I once had the opportunity to meet a American Antiques collector couple in Bali and as we got talking I realized they had incredible knowledge about Indian art and artifacts, they said they had traveled to India many times and they said they themselves had a huge collection of Indian artifacts, I asked them how old and they told me some of them were centuries old, I asked them the obvious question how they got them and the typical American answer was obviously we paid handsomely for them, I learned through them that Indian artifacts were still being smuggled out of India till the late 90s, I also learned another interesting thing that before coming to Bali the couple were in England visiting their English private collector friends and they said some of the Indian artifacts that are held privately pale in comparison to what is displayed at British museums, so what you see there is just probably a small percentage of what is held privately by English Collectors. Needless to say I felt sick after hearing all that.

Why don't these private english collectors give back the artifacts to India? And how many artifacts were stolen from India? Any idea?
@magnusrex579
@magnusrex579 2 жыл бұрын
@@mangopudding5979 Sadly there is no known figure of how many priceless artifacts were stolen out of India, if we take a wild guess then the number is in the thousands also its difficult for Britain to return any of it back because once they do that it will set a precedent and they will have to return everything to every country they have stolen from, this museum will cease to exist also a lot of our artifacts are scattered all over Europe and a lot of it has been sold to American private collectors.
@mangopudding5979
@mangopudding5979 2 жыл бұрын
@@magnusrex579 even if artifacts have been sold to private collectors, the artifacts can be brought back and also one day UK has to return all the artifacts because both these are crimes. Just recently some 250 artifacts were returned to India by USA, how did that happened.

I felt teary and choked by this video. How could someone be so heartless and cruel. They tried to wipe out our such rich culture, heritage, killed millions and sucked out all our wealth just for their mere selfishness and jealousy. I felt really empathetic to those who were deceased at the same time I felt so proud of my country.. जय हिंद !

It feels so bad to see such amount of valuable relics are stolen and a lot of people died in behind of them. But the good thing is they are well preserved. I doubt whether these items would be preserved in that way if they remained in India. Such a big diversified and ancient history India has. Bad thing is very few people understand how great their identities are! Only blatantly following west will not take the sub continent people to nowhere. In one of the writings vivekananda has written I loved india before I went to West. But After returning from there I feel like every sand particle of India is sacred. Let not the western ideology destroy what we are! Of course we shall learn what the good of the west and make ourselves better. At the same time we should not forget what we are and we should be proud of that!!

It's just sad to see our treasure and cultural artifacts stolen from our ancestors which is rightfully ours. It's also saddening that our education system and schools only teach us fragmented history which only focuses on the time of colonization and freedom struggle. However, from past thousands of years India had highly advanced civilisation, rich culture and great leaders of it's time.. Proud to be Indian

Femine were directly caused by britisher or due to more natural droughts at that time has been a debatable question, but they did have part in it atleast indirectly as they destroyed many industries and people were forced to rely on agriculture and depend on seasonal monsoons which made economy more dependent on agriculture.
