those long periods of screeching noises are most likely feedback. there's no sound in space, but when you convert radio and plasma waves to audible sound, you get transmissions that sound like that (see: cassini's recordings of saturn's rings). there's plenty of things in deep space that have high radiowave frequencies which could be interfering with the rest of the playback

They do a pretty good job with the "spooky" sounds. I am guessing that, in reality, the game developers use sound recordings of perfectly innocuous things (washing machine, birdsong, whatever) that are altered to run at different speeds and pitches. Just as with an old-style vinyl record - playing one at the 'wrong' speed gets interesting results.

No. The game devs actually used real life radio emissions recorded in archives from NASA and other public sources. But there are some that are made up.

Because it's about being COMPLETELY alone in an isolated region of earth that is normally around -10 to -30 degrees on a good day, and your only means to communication would literally be with alien transmissions. Also nobody has any faith that those doors actually lock. Anyone, or anyTHING....could walk in.... (Also it didn't end well for the last researcher, as the shoe will attest to.)

Maybe it's someone who already decided they're not a fan of this game and dislike every one that IGP makes because they like IGP but are disappointed every time one comes out. Now I know that sounds like it's coming from a place of truth (and that's because it is) but, I promise it's not about this series. I quite like everything IGP does. I'm just salty about a completely different KZbinr that I barely ever watch anymore because he sold out to Fortnite, whom I always dislike his Fortnite videos to show that as a loyal audience member, I don't like those. On the flip side, I do always hit the like on everything else he does (and for the record, also everything IGP does.)

Only slightly under 5% of people can't tell the difference between 30 and 60 fps. I'm one of the people that can't, but there have been actual studies on this. Less than 1% can tell the difference in anything over 80 though, and over 60 fps the number of people who can tell the difference rapidly drops.
