Check out today's crazy video where the US military used fear tactics to scare away a communist revolt in the Philippines. They turned the Filipino urban legend of the Aswang, a Philippine version of Dracula, into a real life monster and terrified the Filipino soldiers. Can you believe these scare tactics actually worked in real life combat?

My relatives in the provinces always mentioned to close the windows and lock it if their wives or a woman in the family is pregnant because there might be a chance that an Aswang would take (eat) the unborn baby. Just gonna share a short "Aswang" story of my sister where she worked night shifts on a rural hospital in Palawan. *insert creepy music * In their bedroom quarters there was a window near her room and she always closed that window before going on her shift. She kept wondering why there are times that it was fully open after returning from her shift and the only other personnel that enters their bedroom quarters besides medical staffs were the janitors of the hospital, the following day she asked the janitors if they open the window near her bedroom when they clean, they said no, she also asked other medical staffs if they open the window when they go to the bedroom quarters, they also said no. My sister noticed that the only time that the window opens is when my sister's colleague would take a nap in her bedroom when they take turns on their shift. Her colleague was 2-3 months pregnant at that time. In case you were wondering what floor their bedroom quarters were, it was on the 4th floor.

The US was actually pretty Smart on this one, since us Filipinos believe in Urban Legends a lot. Edit: especially if the Legend is about the “Aswang” or the “Mananangal”. And since they’re both a Type of Vampire it makes them very feared. Not only that, they are more powerful than normal Vampires. Especially that the Mananangal is a normal beautiful Woman by the day, but by the Night it hides in Banana Groves to sever it’s bottom half, to grow wings and fly to hunt their prey. And they feed just like the Aswang.

The place where they operating is said to be an Aswan territory and believed that there's a Aswang rebel. Lol he said that he scared to encounter Aswang than NPA (new people's army) or Muslim rebels
