@@PLONG12345 The Germans were hopped up on PED drugs. The one man army of Bataan thought otherwise (he thought very highly of the troops under his command as fierce soldiers). I personally think it depends on the environment (are the Germans island hopping with the same amount of men and equipment as the Filipino soldiers or are they fighting on German turf?). The other thing about the Germans is that they had a technological advantage against the allies throughout a large part of the war. However in regards to the United States, Americans actually had a much tougher time facing the Japanese then the Germans (Americans were actually quite effective against the Germans under generals like Patton and Bradley). With the Japanese it was another story and a whole different level of misery. It's why we dropped atomic bombs on their 2 cities Hiroshima and Nagasaki to prevent the high death toll of American troops. Island hopping fighting the Japanese were brutal as were the conditions. Filipinos were tough and able to handle such conditions and disease.
