The greatest mystery of all is the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The Catholic church has been built off the faith that Jesus was crucified for our sins, died and was buried, then on the third day he rose from the dead and visited his Apostles. What really happened on that third day that gave birth to an entire religion? Find out right now!

Jesus Christ claims to be God and here's the proof directly from scripture. Revelation 1:8, Revelation 22:13, John 10:30, John 8:24, John 5:18, John 5:30, John 8:58, John 1:1, John 17:5, John 1:14, John 14:9, John 2:19, Matthew 4:7, 1 Timothy 3:16, Collossians 2:9 and Collossians 1:16. If the Gospels are not trustworthy, then the quran is false because the quran teaches that the gospels are the inspired, perfectly-preserved, authoritative words of God. But if the Gospels are trustworthy, then the quran is STILL false because it teaches contradictory, mutually exclusive facts about key issues. Here's some verses that prove the quran confirms the Torah and the Gospels are inspired by allah. quran surah and ayats 2:41, 2:89, 2:91, 2:101, 2:121, 3:3-4, 3:50, 4:47, 5:46, 5:68, 6:114, 6:33-34, 7:157, 15:9 and 18:27.

@@rhamlet5290 Exactly. I just pointed out in another comment that the video poster employs Ancient Aliens tactics (mixing statements by serious scholars about mundane claims and what people just believed back then with statements made but nut jobs, including the video poster him/herself, about alleged "facts" revolving around the supposed resurrection for which there are possible alternative explanations that are far more likely, given what we know about human nature). This gives the video as a whole the aura of critical respectability, which works very well on people with a bias view on the topic.

@@NeedsEvidence I don't think Ray Comfort, William Lane Craig, Josh McDowell, Francis Collins, or any other apologist would have done any better. I was curious how "neutral" they would make this, but this is literally nothing but Christian apologetics. I'm disappointed for two reasons: 1. It would be interesting to see a truly neutral look at the Christian claims and historicity of Jesus 2. Hidden evangelism always annoys me I wouldn't consider myself a mythicist nor would I consider myself a naturalist, but I'd say that I'm practically both. The way I see it, the Jesus of the Bible is so far divorced from whoever that inspired that character, assuming there was an individual(s) at all, that it makes no sense to say this character is historical. Instead of discussing real issues like that, they just write it off as "well, if you don't accept Jesus, you can't accept all these other figures, either!" There are huge differences there and it also wouldn't bother me if we found out Alexander the Great never actually existed.

@@rhamlet5290 I agree. Every point he made has been said to death by Catholic/Christian apologists. My ex who was Catholic and got very into Catholic apology (a major reason we didn’t work out) parroted every single one of these points. It means nothing to say historians agree Jesus existed if said historians are (probably)Christian or raised in a predominantly Christian society. There really isn’t much “evidence” outside the Bible and Christianity that Jesus was real. A couple of guys around that time saying Jesus was a guy they’d heard of doesn’t negate this fact. This video basically does nothing but give credence to the idea that a man’s spirit rose from the dead and that magic does indeed exist 🙄 also, the idea that these books could have been written with near perfect accuracy 25-65 years after the alleged events took place just because people were really into story telling at the time is preposterous. Story tellers are known to embellish. It’s what they do. And you’re right, there’s a very big difference between other historical figures and Jesus in that people wouldn’t be so motivated to fabricate stories of Alexander the Great as they would be motivated to make up stories about Jesus. There are biases at play when it comes to the existence of a supposed God that don’t exist when you’re talking about some kings or warriors of the past. Come on now, infographics, do better.

@@vvieites001 so your argument is that one side is completely biased while downplaying the existing evidence. Sure the eyewitnesses outside the Bible don’t 100% prove it, but it still is valid. Saying an argument is invalid due to them being biased is just absurd. It damages the credibility, sure, but doesn’t debunk it. You’ve seem to have spent a lot of time on this subject, so would you be able to help me understand one of the Christian claims. See I’m an atheist and see a lot of people using the empty tomb as an argument like in this video. However I have not been able to find any independent evidence of a tomb whatsoever. It’s not found anywhere else in the NT other than the gospels and it’s not corroborated by secular/theologically independent sources from the time. Additionally the notion of a proper burial for a crucifixion victim goes against what we know was standard Roman practice. With this all said would you happen to know any evidence of a tomb in the first place let alone an empty one?
@Silkskii
@Silkskii 8 ай бұрын
@@arcticpangolin3090 why do you need specifically evidence of the tomb in other sources? What about all the other evidence? @@Silkskii I would like evidence because, as I said in the original post, the whole idea of a tomb burial is contradicted by the standard procedure for cruxifixction victims. This means that this would be an irregular event and thus would need more evidence to be rationally accepted. This would be a special case and I’m asking what reason we have to accept this as historical? And what “other evidence?” Because it’s a claim only found in the gospels. And, since the gospels/the gospel narratives are not independent, this is a single source. We don’t have any independent corroboration even within the bible. This is something I explicitly said in my initial comment. I’m sorry but it seems that you didn’t actually read my initial comment very carefully. This can be seen in your insistence on the “other evidence” when I explicitly pointed out a lack of any independent corroboration.

For me I think the reason Christianity became the worlds biggest religion is because of what happened on the Cross at Calvary. To remind people when Jesus was pieced in the side with a spear the roman centurion Longinius had his face covered in water and blood, this was an extremely strange phenomenon for obvious reasons. This shook him to his core so much that he became technically the worlds first Christian and was literally Baptized in the blood and water of Jesus, another Prophecy he foretold. The world also had a terrible violent earthquake and the sky went dark during the daytime for nearly 3 hours. This entire sequence of events is the reason why the religion exploded like it did. Imagine seeing that happen in person. it was probably the only thing the people who lived during that time would about.

I do like that he covered a lot of routes and areas but I wish he included more about how many factors and other underlying things that showed that not everything is accurate even the things that prove Jesus is just a regular dude might not be 100% accurate

I used to dismiss the idea, or at least the 'spiritual' significance, of Jesus for the lack of concrete evidence and the necessary contradictions to the laws of physics. That was until He visited me and showed me the difference between logic and faith. He explained to me that the two are not reconcilable in the human mind so to try to prove or disprove one with the other is not possible and an attempt to do so will inevitably lead you to a false conclusion... The difference, He explained, is that faith, by its definition, must come without evidence. Discounting God and His love because He cannot be empirically proven with his own law is like a child believing they don't have a parent because they're in a different room.

I love how you included the fact that it was difficult for Jews in the first century to reconcile with the view that Jesus was not the victorious conqueror that they understood him to be, but rather a portrait of humility and meekness. It goes to show that whether you believe in Jesus or not, He was and is victorious not by means of sheer force or kingly glory, but rather by making Himself a living sacrifice and servant to others; something that He commands believers to do also. Though the world hated Him, He remained ever kind and loved unconditionally. It is such a beautiful message.

Christianity began as sun worship, the stories about Jesus are symbolic. He is just a personification of the sun, made into a god figure later on. The sun "dies" for 3 days on December 22nd, the winter solstice, when it stops its movement south, to be born again or resurrected on December 25th, when it resumes its movement north. In some areas, the calendar originally began in the constellation of Virgo, and the sun would therefore be "born of a Virgin" The sun rising in the morning is "the saviour of mankind" The sun is "The light of the World" The sun "walks on water" is just the reflection of the sun on water/the sea. "He cometh on clouds, and every eye shall see him", is just sun rays. Jesus' "crown of thorns" is just the sun's glare, also know as a halo. The sun's "followers", "helpers" or "disciples" are the 12 months and the 12 signs of the zodiac or constellations, through which the sun must pass. The sun at 12 noon is in the house or temple of the "Most High": thus.."he" begins "his Father's work" at "age" 12. The sun enters into each sign of the zodiac at 30 degrees, hense, the "Sun of God" begins his ministry at "age" 30. The sun is hung on a cross or "crucified", which represents its passing through the equinoxes. The vernal equinox being Easter, at which time it is then resurrected. The reason why saviour myths are so similar with a godman who is crucified and resurrected, who does miracles and has 12 disciples, is that these stories were based on the movements of the sun through the heavens, an astrotheological development that can be found throughout the planet, because the sun and the 12 zodiac signs can be observed around the globe. In other words, Jesus Christ and all the others upon whom this character is predicated are personifications of the sun, and the Gospel fable is merely a rehash of a mythological formula revolving around the movements of the sun throug the heavens. Christianity is ancient astrology, it's just fables about the sun. Check out Acharya S aka D.M Murdock for more info. .

Easter is a pagan festival and had nothing to do with Jesus(as). Easter originally began as a pagan festival celebrating the arrival of spring and the fertility goddess Eostre. It wasn't until later that Christians began to adapt and incorporate these pagan traditions into the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus. Some early Christians were hesitant to celebrate Easter because of its pagan roots. Like with trinity... Christians absorbed the pagan world

@@DemonCore618 unrelated topic. But. For the most part, the Classical-era Greeks "believed" in their gods in a similar way to how a modern American might believe in the Constitution. They were foundational for both national identity and civic institutions, and an important ideological hook to hang all sorts of ideas on, but didn't usually play a very big role in everyday life. Everyday religious practice tended to revolve around local cults which were sometimes very different from the big Olympian deities we normally think of. The idea that the gods were metaphors for "phenomena occurring within nature" is basically the invention of the 19th century scholar Max Müller: his view was that a statement like "Zeus makes it rain" was, originally, strictly linguistically equivalent to "it is raining". This was a very influential view, though the linguistic side of it disappeared in later theorists like Andrew Lang and George Frazer, who emphasised the grounding of myths in ritual and the irrational -- though they all shared the view that myths were essentially a fantasised reinterpretation of primal sentiments that were still shared by modern "civilised" people. This is just one of several "big schools" of thought on the nature of myths: others include the psychoanalytic interpretations of Freud and Jung, the structuralist interpretations of Dumézil and Lévi-Strauss, and the "monomyth" of Joseph Campbell. None of these monolithic theories has really stuck in modern approaches to myth, because it has become more widely recognised that myths are just too complex to be explained by any one theory. Any one of these theories might apply in some cases, but fail completely in hundreds of others. And, on the contrary, Christianity has more social and political elements as well as people arguing for its historical validity. But, I think the biggest difference is probably time frame removed from relevancy. But also - I have no idea. This is all speculation. That’s a good question.

I’ll say what a lot of people are saying: I never thought I’d see a video like this coming from this channel, and when I did see the video on my recommended I thought, “Oh boy, here we go again.” I am pleasantly surprised by how professional this video was towards both sides of the argument and not just a satirical slander against any religion. There were many points that were new to me for the resurrection and they were fantastic. I am a believer and this helped strengthen my faith a little more. In fact, I encourage actually looking at the sources. One apologist book, one debate, & a few Wiki articles. It's very obvious to me that the book forms the video's backbone, & it's not balanced with a book criticizing the resurrection narrative, let alone any historical textbooks.

As a Christian and after watching this, I will say that the video points out very good points. It does admit that something truly incredible happened which caused the disciples to spread the Gospel. Additionally I really like how it emphasizes that the Gospels are written more on a fact based rather than a romanticized way. I believe that Jesus rose from thé dead because of several reasons. He is said to have appeared to over 500 different people, the disciples died for the faith, and prophecies came true. Overall, this video gives a fair opinion on the resurrection of Jesus thé Christ.

@@kingkong20531 I am a Jew. And we know Yeshua is God. I also see and talked to Yeshua in person. As Yeshua said, you worship what you dont know, but we Jews worship what we do know, FOR SALVATION IS FROM THE JEWS. We can understand the entire bible from the Torah up to the revelations. We know Yeshua from Genesis up to the revelation. But because you are a gentile Christian, and you worship what you dont know, i will explain. Yeshua is YHWH. He is the Hamaschiach, or also calles as the Son. Oh God has a baby? Nope. It means "He came from YHWH", His Word which became flesh. Not a seperate person, but He as One. So He is called the Son, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace, Counselor and El Shaddai. As Yeshua or Jesus stated even in the old testament, HE IS ONE. "Hear oh Ysrael, YHWH our El Shaddai, YHWH is ONE" Yup, not three, but One. But of course, you as a gentile Christian will ask why one? Not three? First Because Yeshua said He is One. Also let me give an example. How many spirits that Jesus or Yeshua have? 7 right? He has 7 Spirits, and it is written from the entire bible even up to revelations. But He dont call it as SPIRITS but in singular, The Holy Spirit. And the Holy Spirit is not a seperate being or person, He is YHWH Himself. YHWH means "I am for who I am". If you are confused why He is plural but ONE, because He is for who He is.

However - there was not a single document mentioning Jesus while he was still alive. No letters of followers talking about loaves and fishes. This is unusual if we want to believe that the stories, and accounts of Jesus life written in the New Testament happened. Much less famous and less notable figures had documented evidence or at least mentions of him being alive exist across the lifespan of when Jesus was said to be alive.

I started drinking when I was 16. I would drink at parties, but I also started drinking alone because I was unhappy, and I was in a lot of emotional pain all the time. My mom was very aggressive when I was younger, and my brother hated her and so did I. He started hanging out with shady people, he started failing all his classes, he was never home, and my parents fought all the time. I also ran away several times. I was always trying to figure out a reason as to why I was here or what the purpose of life was. So, I started looking at different philosophies, religions, and beliefs. When I was 18 after I was hungover, I got on my knees and I prayed for the first time. I asked if God was real that he would show me he was real because I couldn’t take it anymore. I was crying when I prayed for this. At that moment I felt a presence come over me like a wind. It was barely noticeable, but it was unlike anything in my life I had experienced up until that point. I was surprised when I felt it and I remember saying “what was that?” after that experience I pretty much forgot what happened and kept partying, until my senior year when I got arrested. After my arrest, my parents lost all their trust in me and I was expelled from high school. I was told never to come back. At that time, I felt afraid and hopeless. That’s when I started looking for God, and I prayed that he would reveal himself in my life and that he would give me signs. My prayers began getting answered so consistently that I couldn’t deny that God was doing something. It was mysterious and compelling. I ended up in Church and started reading the bible hours a day. I stopped hanging out with all my other friends because they were continually getting arrested. I was able to forgive my family and myself and to ask to be forgiven. I noticed how at Church people were judgmental and how they formed cliques but were afraid to be around anyone else different from them. It increased my faith because I realized Jesus was not like that and ever since I was young, I saw people as people regardless of who they were. After a while, it’s like I could see God's presence was in my life and then it felt like he wasn’t, and then he was, and then he wasn’t. One day I woke up and felt more depressed than I ever have in my entire life. I felt like I was dying on the inside. That night I prayed, and I said, God, I don’t see my life five years from now I'm going to die Jesus save me Lord, please save me. I was weeping when I said it and when I asked him to save me, I felt a presence inside of me like a heartbeat, and I felt it once like a pulse, and I said Lord please save me and I felt it again even stronger. It was like radiance. When I woke up the next morning, I had transformed everything felt brand new like I was a kid again. All my fears and all my racing thoughts everything was gone. I looked at my hands, and I said this can’t be real, it's impossible. When I looked at myself in the mirror, I saw a different person. I started praying, and the holy spirit became entirely real to me; it was washing over me and inside of me. It was total love and peace, and I heard a voice but not an audible one, it was an inner voice. It said I am with you; I love you, I will never leave you, it’s done it’s finished. That was May 3rd, 2009, and ever since then I’ve followed God, I have seen many things change and many things I know wouldn’t have changed without faith and belief. I know what it’s like to be lost to feel you have no hope. Don’t ever think you’re stuck, or life can’t change because it can. My mom is a Christian now, Its night and day. Some of the things that went away during that period were severe anxiety and my addiction to alcohol. I’ve seen and experienced so many things that are miraculous and seen how God has worked in my life. When we ask God to forgive us for what we’ve done and turn away from our sins and wrongdoings and we believe in Christ's sacrifice everything changes. His word says if we confess with our mouths that Jesus is Lord and believe in our hearts that he died and rose again we will have eternal life but not just life after death but abundant life in the present. Our sins are erased not only past, present, and future but our burdens and fears are lifted also. Our thoughts, our minds, our hearts, our souls are transformed and united with God and we know his spirit lives in us. If you seek, pray, and knock you will know JESUS IS KING!!! HE LIVES!

This is a terribly flawed video. It's broad and fallacious statements that the gospels are historically reliable are just wrong. They get so many things badly wrong in the video that it seems to be not a critical look but rather another apologetics video masquerading as something it's not.

@@dontworry9568 lot of things. Ages of kings given different in different chapters. Even jesus's genealogy is given different in different chapters in new testament. Even the chapters of Mark, Luke etc are not even written by the same persons; they have been derived from interpretations based on their writings later who themselves have not even seen jesus. Then how can one rely on Gospels blindly even after it is clear to contain numerous errors? Even the new testament couldn't account for the death of judas clearly without ambiguity thus stating that some parts of bible are written based on mere conjecture rather than basing upon the original teachings of jesus the man and the prophet. Reference: 1. age of jehoiachin in 2kings vs 2 chronicles. 2. Age of ahaziah in 2kings vs 2 chronicles. 3.judas death acts1:18 vs mathew27:5 4. Jesus ancestry Luke 3:23 vs mathew 1:16....Etc etc etc Even jesus says in acts 2:22 I'm a 'man' send by God besides in john 10:29 saying that my Father is greater than all and in john 5:30 that I can myself do nothing and in mathew 5:17 i come to fulfill the law. All this clearly indicates that jesus was just a human and prophet of God just like the prophets before him like Adam, Seth, david, solomon, Noah, Abraham, moses etc.

@wolfattackz187 The apparent discrepancy of the witnesses at the resurrection in John. A KZbinr I enjoy listening to, Inspiringphilosophy, has plausible explanations. Also, the Pericope Adulterae, or the woman caught in Adultery, seems to be an early insertion and appears in Codex Vaticanus- albeit with umlauts to indicate questionable etymology. However, some textual critics, such as Dr. Daniel Wallace, have speculated that it may have been an authentic story but just displaced or looking for a gospel. However, these are minor nuances. Also, I may have added the questionable longer ending of Mark after 16:9. But that's a hornet's nest! A few points, but nothing to detract from a well researched and enjoyable episode.

@ArdnassakChreesmas The somewhat dismissive approach to John's Gospel. We have a fragment from John dating to early-mid second century, which is very close to when it was written. But I agree that the Pericope Adulterae wasn't in John, although it seems to be an early story and it's a stretch to call it "fabricated". But small nitpicking.

I think the main question one needs to answer honestly is: "What's more important to me: knowing the truth, or being comfortable?" I've observed that most people just want to be comfortable. And most people I've seen who say they want the trurh, only want it to the point that borders on discomfort. If the truth gets too uncomfortable, most will stop pursuing it or abandon it altogether. Just my observations. In the end, ALL OF US will get the truth (like it or not; understand it or not). Enjoy your personal beliefs while you can. The truth just is.
