Hello Andy, thanks for all your hard work and good advice, just bought myself a second hand 023 recently, it's nice and clean, but seems a little low on power, just due to normal wear and tear I think but I'll probably put a new top end on soon. great to have your videos to refer to for all those fiddley little Jobs that seem easy when your taking things apart but become huge headaches if you've forgotten the steps when re-assembling. Looking forward to seeing yours running. Keep up the good work and take care.

Hi. I would suggest to give that saw some good work and get lots of new fuel through it. Saw s that have not been used, or used occasionally will not run properly until they have worked hard for a few hours. Always worth a go, and then just check the carb settings once the new fuel has cleaned out the carb and the deposits round the rings. Cheers

Thanks Andy, I've got plenty of logs and trimmed branches that I'll be cutting up for firewood next weekend, I'm hoping the saw will cut well, I'll give it a good blast as yuo recommended and see what happens, it seems a bit low on compresion to me, but the chap that sold it to me assures me it's fine. I popped off the exhaust to have a look at the piston and it seemed to have some very light scoring on the front skirt, plenty of carbon on top too, so I'll see how she runs and if I'm not convinced, I'll have a look inside and see if the cylinder is OK. There are plenty of aftermarket parts available online so hopefully, a new Meteor nikasil coated piston might be enough to do the trick, if not I look into getting a new top end kit.

Hello! I'm stuck on my repair of a MS361. Do you know where does the front end of the brake cable attach to; the S shaped end at the end of the wire? Number 15 on the exploded parts diagram: www.diyspareparts.com/parts/stihl/diagrams/ms-361c/2a8049b2-6779-4adf-a9db/

HI, I have never worked on a saw with the remote brake lever, and never used one. I assume this is to take the brake off and so the cable will pull. This should give you a clue as to which side of the rocker it fits, Cheers
