Ben's Omnitrix being tied not just to a machine but his emotional, physical and mental state just makes sense. When he's knocked out, he transforms back. When he's in pain or in trouble he's able to access the best aliens to help him. The Omnitrix is apart of him, and I feel like it does make him change his behaviour from time to time, so it makes sense for it to also give access to Feedback when he was emotionally and mentally ready to use him again

I'll be fully honest. I remember watching this episode during a dark point in my life where I was actually doing more blaming myself for past trauma and mistakes instead of actually healing, and it was really hurting me. That scene where Ben forgives himself struck a chord with me and helped me learn that i needed to forgive myself and move forward instead of letting the past haunt me. This episode always holds a place in my heart for that reason.

I think Kevin absorbing Way Big's armour makes sense as matter absorption rather than DNA absorption because: 1. We've seen him do something like this before in the episode "Where the Magic Happens" where he absorbs the teeth of the guard dog creature of Addwaitya. 2. Way Big's armour is basically a protein produced by his body and Kevin is absorbing the protein itself rather than the DNA sequence responsible for making that protein.

- Feedback was turned to dust in the same way that technology that Malware absorbs is destroyed. - The place where Feedback's transformation should be was empty in the Omnitrix - Ben regains the transformation after being absorbed into Malware. This leads me to believe that Malware absorbed the DNA rather than just destroying it, which made the transformation inaccessible, and then the Omnitrix blocked the transformation from being re-added as a security precaution. However, when Ben was absorbed into Malware, the Omnitrix must have reacquired the original DNA, which unlocked the transformation.

I love that Malware calls Azmuth "Father", I remember being confused by that when the first preview of this episode came out, but now I really like it, it shows just how much Azmuth seemingly abandoning him affected Malware and how attached to him he really was, especially combined with the later line "Do you see how your loyalty to Azmuth is repaid?", it really adds to the sense of betrayal Malware must have felt from the closest thing to a parent that he had, even if Azmuth was honestly trying to help him and Malware just couldn't see that. Also I'm pretty sure the background Plumber in the scene with Max was voiced by Corey, I thought it did sound like him and I don't remember any other additional characters he could have voiced in this one.

The whole "talking to a piece of himself" inside Malware mirrors (imo) the Kurama scene when Naruto goes full berserk against Pain and almost lets the full 9 Tails come out. Only for Naruto to talk to his mother father for a breif moment (even though they are already dead, they both sealed a piece of their chakra/soul when the first put Kurama inside of Naruto before they died) and realize what he needed to do in order win the battle. Both very powerful and heartfelt scenes.

This, for me, is a great way to end Malware's story arc for so many reasons, like with the fact he dies from the energy of the Helix that itself made him as powerful as he was, him being halfway peeled from his Newer form to his Original form, but also the fact that before the final, he was just toying with Ben not only cause he wasn't his main target at that time but also cause he was the one to inflict trauma on Ben so he always had the High Ground, while here his last ever line is "CURSE YOU BEN TENNISON" showing that he no longer sees Ben as just a meer object in his way but not necessarily respecting him for that, and to end this, his death is probably the most satisfying Death ever in all of Ben 10, cause most, if not all Villains, they either get arrested or Redeemed or forgotten about, and those who die aren't really memorable and probably wasn't even characters but just some Monsters or Goons, but Malware was just different, unlike most Villains who are only ennemies of Ben becuase Ben just happened to stop their evil plans unrelated to him, or just cause he has the Omnitrix, here tho he has basically the same status as the Omnitrix, a creation of Azmuth, but he was also very personal to Ben's backstory with the whole Feedback arc, so when he was gone, Ben finally got rid of a Looming figure haunting him every time he would even be mentioned, and it was as much of a relief for us the audience as it was to Ben, even if we did like Malware (personally my favorite Villain in all of Ben 10, as an Omniverse Villain tho, he comes close to Servontus and Albedo)

Kevin absorbing Way Big's Armor is just him taking on one alien. Every time we see him go wild, he has had multiple aliens absorbed (though admittedly in his first episode he was already off the rails before he ended up combining them). So i think he can handle one alien at a time, especially since it feels like he has to have access to the materials to use them, he cant just become something hes absorbed previously

Feedback is my all time favourite alien and the reason I love him isn't just how cool or OP he is but practically what this episode represents for us. I think if there's one thing we have often stuglle with is losing something we care about (a friend, a toy, a show or whatever we love) and it's sucks epsically when you're a lot older and often look back in the things we cherish. Ben losing Feedback was the hardest thing he had to deal with back then and knowing how much he loved that alien really must have been devastating but the shot of older Ben comforting young Ben and telling him thats it's ok to lose as long as you get back up speaks an important message. no matter what happen, never stop loving what you do, cause even when you lose something that's means a lot to you, you should never give up what's truly important. That's what make Feedback important to me and why he's my favourite. Also his design, powers are insanely cool plus his theme *SLAPS*

I've already commented this in the poll and I KNOW that there's a 95% chance that you're going to acknowledge this in a future breakdown, but I really loved the return of Feedback except for one detail. Cartoon Network aired Omniverse so insanely out of order, that a later episode with 16 year old Feedback had already come out before this two parter. And that's one of the reasons I stopped watching Omniverse because I spent all of part 1 super confused wondering why he didn't have Feedback anymore when I just saw him being used like a week or two ago. So I knew something had to have been wrong and it's a Shame that some of us didn't get to experience that reveal from the proper episode order. But Network problems aside, this is still an incredible Ben 10 moment, and while it's still up in the air, I actually do consider it Canon that losing Feedback is what causes Ben to remove the Omnitrix. It just makes the most sense given how depressed and defeated we see him in the flashbacks.

with the to'kustar beams, I think what I would've done is have the straight up ultraman pose with it coming from the side of the palm be more of a "basic" version and the arms crossed version requiring more of a charge-up (holding the pose for a few seconds) but being much more damaging as for malware absorbing some of the ground, I think that's more due to Galvan Mk. 2 being an artificial planet - there's likely technology embedded in the soil all over the place for various purposes, which he's absorbing

Actually being able to segment the planet makes a lot of sense. How else would you perform maintenance? Stop one rogue piece from ruining the rest of the planet? Be able to take it apart to replace pieces if necessary? Or in this specific case stop a giant robot Nanite goo from becoming your planet?

Idk why, but bringing up the idea that the young Ben in the conversation is what's left of Feedback made me so emotional. It shows that not only is Ben talking to Feedback, Ben IS Feedback. That connection feels so much more real to me than any other transformation in this franchise.

Yay, XLR8 is next for And Beyond^^ I am excited to see that! :D Oooh so the burp noise WASN'T there in the intro early on! I was wondering why I didn't remember it being in earlier episodes... While I am reluctant to call this finale perfect, I do agree it's damn good. Malware's speech to Azmuth si one of my favourite parts of this franchise to this day. Sure, it's basically daddy issues, but it's more complex and compelling as characer motivations than a lot of villains get in Ben 10. I don't even mind that he goes full on "I'm just gonna blow everything" at the end, because in context it makes sense : he's basically raging against Azmuth, so warping and devouring his entire planet is just another way to get back at him. Mhm.... I had never considered your theory regarding Feedback. My assumption always was that he destroyed the DNA sample but maybe he destroyed and absorbed the function within the Omnitrix that allowed to transform into Feedback? That still doesn't explain why the new Omnitrix and Ultimatrix had that same restriction, but still, interesting theory. I admit, I actually had plenty of complains the first time I watched this, but looking back most of them are nitpicks. Some of the jokes actually amuse me this time around, like Zedd biting Kevin's leg to no effect and being dragged around XD my problems mostly reside in the fact that I feel there isn't much logic, safe for the plan that helps fix Galvan Prime's core defense; Malware's powers kinda are left unexplained as you say and Ben regaining Feedback felt like a Deus Ex machina. Buuuut I can't deny that emotionally it works and is one of the rare times in OV where they get 100% serious. Plus I suppose I should give it a pass when I give it to the Omnitrix bringing Ben back as Diamondhead in Vengeance of Vilgax. Sadly the reveal of Feedback's return was ruined for me because I ended up seeing Store 23 first and so I already knew Ben would get him back--' stupid schedule order. I admit that part of me wish Galvan B and the Galvanic Mecharmorphs weren't so easily fixed if just for consequences. Buuut then again, kid show, and more importantly that would have destroyed a great part of the lore, so probably best they did that. Damn, I have no idea so many stuff got cut. Now I feel like I judge that finale too harshly. It's a miracle it turned out as good as it did with so many cuts.

I personally like the ambiguity of it it’s just vague enough while providing just enough information to let the audience come up with their own conclusion. I subscribe to the interpretation that Malware stole part of Ben’s genetic code so a part of him was actually lost. I think the not accepting Conductoid DNA after the incident was exclusive to the prototype Omnitrix and as for the Ultimatrix I think it’s just because Ben never encountered any Conductoids in UAF. Azmuth might’ve just chose not to put a new sample in out of fear of Ben’s response but Ben forgiving himself was enough for the Omnitrix to restore Feedback to Ben.

Personally I prefer when I have a clear idea of the setting's mechanics and rules, otherwise it feels like the writers can just make up what is going on and that's just lazy writing. It's okay to leave things ambiguous when it's about something that it's information that's legit not important to follow the story - like weither a character survive or not for example - But for something that's a plot-point, you should know clearly what's happening. Fans should not have to do most of the work to explain it.

I think the reason Malware is able to mess with the alien transformations is because his original goal was to get the Omnitrix to fix himself. So that probably means he could use it to mess with his DNA and the DNA in the Omnitrix as well. That, and he has to directly have a part of him touching the omnitrix before he even begins messing with the transformation in the first place.

I could definitely see this done as a 3-parter and we would get to see more of the cut storylines. Maybe not more Pakmar, but more of Gwen, Kevin, and Max and their interactions this episode. I could imagine Gwen and Rook actually talking about Ben for a minute or so it took for Azmuth to do his work.

TBH, even if you use the drug allegory, I think it still works or at least it's more respectful that most drug allegories. Cause it's not "The Drug is bad" but more "Nobody is saying you can't have it, just don't overdose on it" and Feedback is used in moderation after this.
