Hello Thanks for your Chanel!! I 've got so many question, why water in oil don' t suit de darker skin? You talk about all water in oil products, or only this one? I will like to know where we can find the compatibily between stabilizer and oils in general.
@theinstituteofpersonalcare64013 жыл бұрын
Hi Kannella, Thanks for watching and your interest! Please make sure to subscribe to never miss the latest releases. To answer your question: Water in oil formulas tend to feel very heavy - they suit Caucasian skin that gets very dry. Asian and darker skins don’t tend to be as dry as Caucasian skin so their sensory may not be suitable. Try this workshop to help you with emulsifier selection from small suppliers - Can I use a different emulsifier: personalcarescience.com.au/Workshops/Emulsifierworkshop-3165/ It helps you with this exact question! If you want any information on any of our FREE formulas and methods, courses, and workshops, please email us at info@personalcarescience.com.au Happy Formulating!

Hi IPCS, wish you success..Thanks for sharing.. Great video and helpful for small brands too. My question is.. Do we have any ecocert alternative for tixogel..which can be added directly (no activation process).........OR what can be added instead of these activated clays....Thanks

When adding a preservative to a water in oil emulsion, does it matter if I add it to the water phase before homogenization, or to the final w/o emulsion afterwards? I would think it might be difficult to properly introduce and integrate the preservative after homogenization, seeing as the water droplets are almost hidden inside the continuous oil phase. Assuming the preservative is not damaged by the heat and pH of the process before homogenization and cooldown.

Aloha Belinda, Do you think that Hectorite gel would work in place of the tixogel?
@theinstituteofpersonalcare64015 жыл бұрын
If its straight hectorite then no - hectorite is water compatible and would actually work AGAINST stability. If its a quaternium hectorite then yes it would be suitable. Hope this helps.

Hey can I use this for my lashes and eyebrow as a serum? Because I use a combination of castor oil and other oils in my eyelash serum. And when appliced it is very difficult to stick to the eyelashes and also the texture like water granules, sticky but dont want to coat the eyelashes and make eye pain if exposed to the eye. I think i want to make it a texture like aloe vera gel or lotion or cream. Can it be? And I want to know what material can be used? Is Beeswax, Shea Butter or the other? I hope you reply to this❤️
@theinstituteofpersonalcare64013 жыл бұрын
This does not suit a lash/eyebrow serum. You would typically want/need a different products for the eyebrows to the lashes as they are very different types of hair and of course where they are applied also matters a lot. Happy Formulating!
Hi Belinda! Could you please create a video explaining surfactants, ions, surface tension and the like? I suppose it'd be an elaboration on ~2:49 where you talk about adding salt to help the water droplets stay together in the continuous phase/support the emulsifier.

will you make a W/O emulsion with lecithin or fluidlecithin? will be helpful if you can share the percentages in the video. thanks
@theinstituteofpersonalcare64015 жыл бұрын
Hi Oana, from experience, lecithin on its own is NOT suitable to stabilise a w/o emulsion. In the past, that is all they had, and it didn't give a good shelf life. However, there are lecithin combinations that work well (with other materials) and lecithin is a GREAT addition in small quantities (2-3%) for a beautiful sensory/skin feel. It does feel amazing. But its not enough to stabilise on its own. Use better emulsifiers to stabilise your emulsion, add lecithin for sensory, and you'll have a beautiful product. If you are formulating 'natural' then use light skin feel esters to provide a light and silky skin feel too. Happy formulating!
