I purchased one of your cup holders for my Ioniq 5 and had an amazing experience when I first had challenges with the cup holders. I had such an amazing experience with the cup holder that now I purchased one of these adapters because it was a feature I wish the Ioniq 5 had! I am really looking to forward to installing it whenever I get it!

I have had it now for quite some time on our Ioniq 5SEL and it works incredibly well. If you are coming from a Tesla with walk away locking (I also have a Model 3, at least until NACS port on Hyundai/Kia widely available) this feels like the same experience. It is a great device. I bought and installed myself. Well worth it.

My upcoming EV6 GT will unfortunately be susceptible to the infamous keyfob relay attack as it's equipped with the keyless entry - can this addon be utilized to mitigate this security risk? Although it's a lease I better want to be safe than sorry. I would like to avoid extra steps (car wash mode for example), I even thought about disabling the accelerometer in the keyfob to disable the permanent transmission, although I'd be at risk in damaging the keyfob which is quite pricey...

I thought it was odd that the Ioniq 6 didn't have trailer light hook up so I checked in mine and it appears to have the same as the EV9 (UK). I'll be in touch directly to confirm.

I’m sure it would be a lot of effort to custom make a part but it would be great if the trailer harness plug was a ‘tee’ so it could be used at the same time as trailer lights. My i5 limited came with factory towing

I already have the trailer light connector in use. Do I have to instal the wire tap version under the passenger seat or is there a way to hook it up tot the wires of the occupied trailer light connector? If so, is there a tutorial?

You can wire tap the trailer light wiring harness as shown at the end of the instructions linked here: docs.google.com/document/d/1dVY_kyJfOs-L-zjUr5ec0DMY5TGI_ESpBZJiOflhZ54/edit

Curious if this works with the "dog mode/utility mode" where you put the vehicle in utility mode, lock the vehicle from the inside, open the driver door and then lock the door with the manual key? If the addition of the product disables this ability, I wonder if you disengage the product the dog mode function would work again?

That's a nice upgrade! Unfortunately, I already have trailer wiring hooked into that connector, and would prefer not to use wire taps. I do have a question about accessing that connector. When I installed my wiring, I could not loosen the plastic nuts on the brace behind the rear seats to save my life, and thus couldn't fully remove the plastic siding -which made it difficult to get behind it. Dunno why those nuts wouldn't loosen. Pfffft.
@TheIoniqGuy28 күн бұрын
Same issue for me. If you just pull it straight up without touching the nuts the whole thing removes. I didn’t look at the nuts in too much detail but I have a feeling they’re just friction fit over the threaded studs
@Yanquetino27 күн бұрын
@@TheIoniqGuy Aha…! Well, I guess that would explain why the nuts would only spin and spin and sping for me -but not come off. Huh. Wish I'd known this so that I could've pulled the side plastic off to access the wiring more easily. Aw, well… at least now I've got my hitch and wiring installed.

Cool device Corbin! I want this for my GV60. Question is it easy to install on the 2023 gv60P? Do you have a gv60 install video? Do I run the risk of voiding my warranty by installing this device? If it is simple to install I figure I could remove it prior to servicing so I don’t get push back from installing a 3rd party device.

Interesting….. in my EV9 i think i take my key fob with me about 10% of the time, I usually just rely on my iPhone/Apple Watch combo with digital key. So don’t see too much value in this idea. Also, because i keep the car in the garage i never lock it there, so i guess I lock way less than most. For locking my car i just tap the cutout on the handle or ask Siri on my watch to lock the car if i already started to walk away (shorter distances). Other EV9 accessories are interesting.

All the device does is send a signal to either lock or unlock, there’s not much it could do. You can always just disconnect it and nobody would ever know it was being used. The magnuson moss act says that unless they can prove that accessory caused a problem, they can’t decline a warranty claim

More than anything I hate that I can’t leave the car running and lock the door. I constantly run into stores and don’t want the heat, heated seat and steering wheel to stop I just have to reselect everything every time I get in and out. Super annoying
@TheIoniqGuy28 күн бұрын
I hear that. Would be nice if it could remember settings if you get back to your car within a certain amount of time
@lanceareadbhar28 күн бұрын
The reselecting is definitely the most annoying and could be fixed with a simple software update, but that's clearly not a priority with them. With the app, I think you can turn on the heat and heated seats for 10 minutes as if you were pre warming the car for a road trip, but would take time to get used to this and would have you messing around on your phone in the store and if you don't have a good signal may not make it to the car. Unfortunately, when you start the car, you'll once again have to turn on the heated steering wheel and heated seats via the menu which over time can become routine, but knowing there can be a much simpler way is still frustrating.

Hey Corbin, I wonder if customers would be interested in a kick sensor. I installed one in my car, not an I5, and it was relatively easy, but required me making a mercury switch so that it would go up and down. I don’t currently own an I5 so not sure how well the proximity opening works but I’ve seen some complaints about it. But people complain about everything, so not sure. But I do love my kick sensor. Something that mimicked dog mode would be cool, but I can see liability issues there so that could be an issue. I was hoping on the 2025 they’d add dog mode.
@rob896928 күн бұрын

You actually can. Put the vehicle in utility mode. Have all doors closed. Lock the car from the interior of the vehicle. Open the drivers door. Exit the vehicle. Close the drivers door. Lock the drivers door with the physical key from the fob. You will only then be able to open the door using the physical key, but utility mode will remain on.

@robsquared2 correct. In the Tesla, I just exit the vehicle. No need to turn the car “off”. No need to lock the doors. The car does both automatically. Oh and when I return, the Tesla resumes the heated wheel and seats as I left them. TIL that the Ioniq 5 doesn’t. When I have a rental car or a test drive of another vehicle I constantly leave their vehicle “on” and unlocked. Seems like I have a bunch of things I’ll need to think about when I buy the I5! Hopefully they add some of these conveniences in a future software update.

The magnuson moss warranty act protects you. Hyundai would have to prove the device caused the problem, which it won’t. If you’re worried, disconnect it and nobody knows it was ever there
