Great review Ioniq Guy and thank you for coming to visit us at Key Hyundai of Manchester CT! I'm the EV/Hybrid Specialist at Key Hyundai of Manchester so if you have any questions that didn't get answered in this video please reply to this comment and I'll do my best to answer them. We currently have Ioniq 6s in stock with plenty of Ioniq 5s as well if anyone is in the area and wants to come check them out! Thanks again Ioniq Guy, can't wait for your video after you get to spend a full week with the 6!

Great video Corbin. Even though I'm not in the market for the 6, just love seeing the comparison from a 5 owner that lives/loves the car everyday. Like that you're keeping it very balanced without much bias towards the 5 too. Like you, I was a long-time sedan driver and really feel at home with the 5 even though it's marketed as an "suv".

I have the 18" wheels on RWD in Australia and getting the equivalent of 5.1mi/kWh so yeah it is super efficient. The spec here still keeps the nose sound system and hud even on the rwd and only misses vented front seats, heated rear seats, memory seats, heat pump and camera mirrors. All the other nice to haves are on the lowest spec. Love it

Hey E Coaster Ioniq Dude, CaliBoi here WITH the SE LR RWD 6 and YES miss the SEL Trim but I WANTED THE RANGE! 371 was a DC chrg and usually 350-360 with using the L-2 Charger and only going 80 % with the DC. Had EV since 2010 and only a L-2 user NO CHAEDEMO so used to only lchange of full batt four years later. NO MORE RANGE ANEXIETY! So YES Ioniq Guy (5 to 6) WAIT for it, I only had to wait from Long Beach from docks via H Dealer for THIS SE LR RWD. Accidentally had L-2 overcharge already for 5 hrs and Believe IT or Not, 431 showed on display post unplugging! went away quick down to 371 albiet supposed to MAX OUT EPA @ 361. Good car WAY Better than my 100m EV and NOT haveing to CHARGE EVERYDAY NO MOREl....NICE job, will watch your long drive.

I am in the same boat, it’s been a year now on the waiting list and still waiting the call from my dealer to process the order. It’s painful to see that many I5 in the car lot and here in Canada no dealer has one. 😢

Happily that seems to be changing a bit. Autotrader has been showing Ioniq 6 in stock on and off around SW Ontario. I know someone in Ontario whose Ioniq 6 arrived at the dealer recently about 17 weeks after ordering (though they were told two years was a possibility at the time of ordering). Granted, due to the way that allocation works, it was their fourth or fifth choice of colour, but it was the right trim and option level, and wasn't the matte paint, so it wasn't critical. GV60 is also in the 4-5 month range for people going upmarket for E-GMP vehicles in Ontario.

Nice review. One thing I noticed when driving one was that unlike the Ioniq 5 the 6 remembers the iPedal mode!
@ChristopherDillman

22:29 - By iPedal you mean the one pedal drive? My problem with the Teslas is they make me nauseous when you take your foot of the accelerator and it very aggressively slows down. Curious what the feel is like with the Ioniq 6? I recently drove a Polestar 2, and no nausea there - much smoother.

Great video as usual. I was into buying this car when it's finally available in Sweden and it is now. But.... the big issue is delivering times to Sweden. Ioniq 5 buyers ordered their cars mid 2021 and still many of them still haven't got their cars... Unfortunately for Hyundai because the car is a dream, but I am not ready to wait 2 years for a new car. But I will still follow your channel because I really like your way of showing these great cars.

5:45 If I’m not mistaken, Ioniq5 is the only eGMP car with 2 separate coolant reservoirs. EV6 and GV60 have just one like this.

I just put my Ioniq 5 in the shop to replace the ICCU/fuse warranty work, and someone before me put his in the shop to have the same replacements, and when they told him it could be weeks, or months, he said he couldn't wait, so he sold the 5 to them and bought a 6! I don't know what kind of deal he made, but when I talked with a salesman, he said they still charge the $5k above sticker price. Plus he said he could only give me $26,000 for my SE trim. LOL! what a bad salesman. Oh well, that's the way it is from Baytown Tx at Hyundai.

I think the Koreans set the pace. So what it amounts to which one is best for my situation. I currently have a lease on a Ioniq which doesn't run out to the middle of next year. By then we will be flooded with Korean choices - I also hope that they start producing the cars they intend to sell in the U.S. to be made in the U.S. so that they will be playing on a even selling field. Testla should not get an financial advantage that Hyundia doesn't also get. Go show, hope to see a long range test from you soon.😁

Could the i-pedal difference be a result of the high state of charge? Many other evs don't like to do significant regen when the battery is at a higher SOC. Just wondering if you considered that.

Got to briefly test drive an I6 a few weeks ago, Springfield Hyundai in PA is receiving small allotments every 3 months. The unthrilling range with 20" wheels deters me from going SEL or Limited. The 11.2 cubic ft for cargo is even worse due how shallow the trunk opening is. But it's a fine sedan, otherwise. If I can get past that teeny trunk, I might just buy an I6 after all.

I inspected an Ioniq 5 on a LVL2 charger in Westerville OH. They charge $0.08/KWH. I don't have a BEV, want one, brings up question how many KWH in per KW of charge? If you are at 20% charge and go to 30% charge ( about 8 KW ) how much does it take to get there? 8KWH , 9KWH ? My home rate is $0.18 / KWH.

A few thoughts of mine. It's really nice. I'm not a fan of the rear lower bumper. In the black it's not as bad but in lighter colors it's not appealing. Cargo space is definitely lacking. I went from a sonata to the i5 and I would never go back to a sedan. I like that the wireless charger is closer to the usb port for carplay. I'm curious if the 2024 i5 refresh will have any changes to the interior. I'm curious if you're able to make a 3D printed replacement of the i5 DC pin cover/protector. Something easier to pull off without Sticking out too much. Just something to grab. May be a bit tough with the tether. Maybe just something that clips onto the existing one?Just a thought tho. Thanks for the video. Keep em coming!!

@TheIoniqGuy
@TheIoniqGuy Жыл бұрын
They’re not recalls so they aren’t available through NHTSA. They meant to be applied when customers complain about a problem. The only TSBs for your car would be the intermittent level 2 charging TSB and the updated battery conditioning update if you find that ECO mode is too slow and dangerous. Please see my older videos
@Alloballo123
@Alloballo123 Жыл бұрын
@@TheIoniqGuy right! I have, thanks. Was just making sure I didn't need to bring it in -- but eco mode is fine with me and I don't have any intermittent level 2 charging issues (though my understanding is the fix just regulates voltage and lowers charge rate -- which you could already do in the software? -- so not much of a fix...)

most if not all Hyundai cars/sedans that have fold down rear seats have those pull nobs in the trunk, don't just flip the seat back down for you. You have to go around like you did to fold them by hand. The pulls in the trunk just unlatch them....very dumb in my opinion. If you have to walk around to fold them anyway, just have a lever to unlatch there....one step to fold them down instead of the current two steps.

@@4thdistrict476 Ah my apologies - I just heard USB - I thought that was strange. So why does it matter A or C ?
@4thdistrict476
@4thdistrict476 Жыл бұрын
@@tonypegler9080 USB- C is the newer standard and is used by most new devices. USB-A has been around for years and is a proven design. But, in the end, the -C would be the preferred version. It passes much more power than the -B (2.5 watts and 5 volt for -A vs 100 watts and 20 volts for -C) so it can charge larger devices and more quickly. Plus, the plug on the -C doesn't have a top or bottom - it's symetrical so can rotate the plug in either position. That means no more checking the orientation before attempting to plug it in, a minor nit, but one that can get frustrating if having to do over and over again.
