Once upon a time, Umbro was a major player in the world of football boots. However, times have changed and Umbro has fallen completely out of favor, but that doesn't mean that they aren't capable of making great boots!
In today's video we take a closer look at the new Umbro Tocco 2 Pro, a football boot that combines kangaroo leather and memory foam to create an amazing feel for the ball, and a comfortable fit! Sound familiar? Well, that's because the Nike Tiempo Legend 9 Elite also offers these things, but at $230 rather than the Toccos steep price of $250. So, given the similarities, which one should you buy? I do my best to answer that question and more, helping you decide whether or not you should be considering Umbro for your next boots. Hey Josh, have you heard of the brand Imotana and their customizable boots called the “Invader”? They are run out of Germany but supposed to give a customized fit using artificial intelligence and virtual reality by scanning your feet. Would love to see a review on them. They look a lot like some of the Adi preds within the last 3 or 4 years though.

The pricing of the Umbro in Thailand is really good. Tocco Pro model is pricing around $135 and they’re usually on sale, So this can be a solid option for me.

Umbros for me have historically been amazing feel and touch. Shots feel great off them and still lightweight as well. What I’ve always had a problem with is durability. They never last more than 10 or so 90 min games. Never made it past a whole season with them. Hope these are different.

The first boots I could play without pain from day 1. I got very wide feet. Soaked them with water the first sessions and they were perfect. Glued gaffa tape on the front to keep the seam intact. Great shoes for a good price!

Just feel Umbro would be better off if they try to go the $200-$250 price range. You’re better off getting something like the new balance furon V6+ either in the knitted or leather version along with the tiempo legend 9

In Thailand,Tocco 2 pro's price is about 140-150$ but we can buy this cheaper than pricetag with discount promotion at store.

Jwowsh what’s your opinion on companies that offer FG > SG stud conversions? Can FG soleplates withstand a metal screw-in stud when it comes to durability and potential stud pressure?

Mannn I wanted to love these. Grew up wearing Umbros and still have a soft spot for them, but their designs just look cheap in recent years. Plus they should really be targeting the Puma price range rather than Adidas and Nike. Also, can't help but keep seeing on the outside of the heel where the sole plate meets the upper, looks like a blowout waiting to happen. Seems not well put together back there.

i don't like that the heel is shallow. i hate the slipping problem especially since i play with thicker insoles on account of flatfoot issues. how come there aren't any midcut boots with leather forefoot components? the midcut ones are always those fully synthetic materials. i'd love to have tiempo or copa midcuts.

For historic reasons I want Umbro to succeed. However, based on my knowledge of the football boot market they should be producing really good boots and pricing them $100-150. Once they rebuild their reputation they can start asking $250. At $250 I'd take a pair of Mizunos over a pair of Umbro at this moment in time. Bob 🇬🇧

Umbro can't be trusted on size, I bought a pair of accuro Pro, normally I'm a size 7, the umbros were at least a size to big and very narrow, unfortunately I wouldn't buy from them again

Price is ridiculous, nobody is going to buy, way too high! Not the worst looking boot but it’s the white double diamonds that make it look cheap. Why did they not ghost it with a Matt against Gloss black or black diamonds with yellow outline to match the rest of the boot? Think the need to sack the design team😂
