I just picked up the Rebel Yell. For the money, I think it's terrific. I enjoy your channel.

You should add saw fiddler in that wheat Blind. Curious to see if fiddler stands the test.

People are hating on the heart release but I think it's like 46cs turned up to 11. Looking forward to a review of the middle West ported rye if you have it

Just bought two of the Maker's hearts in Louisiana on Monday. Thanks to another bourbon hunter on KZbin. I can't find them in Atlanta even though a lot of stores claim to have them. It's one of Maker's best bottles. I've tried the Rebel Cask Strength but never tried the Rebel Yell. I'll put that one on the list. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and opinions it's been very helpful.

Great vid and blind. Loving the Heart Release.

Great video as usual. Everyone's pallet is definitely different. I have the Heart Series release, it okay but nothing special to me. I just love Antique 107 (I love Weller brands period). I can always taste it immediately. The bourbon you had finish second I've never heard of. I need to pick that one up. The Rebel is excellent and super hard to find. I have one bottle I got at the distillery.

I had to choose between buying the new MM and a first release MM 46 cask strength collect dust at a gas station. I went with the 46

I think you'd be happy with either but the old school MM46CS has the bottle shape I loved. I currently have the 23 MM46CS and HR and they are both very close but the HR has just a bit more polish on it.

@@markcalhoun8219 the MM cask strength i found is from like 2021, i think. That release has smoked every other MM i tried

@@BourbonondaBayou makes sense, I loved the Makers 46 standard from the fancy bottle days too so it follows the CS would be amazing. Still can't believe my local store had that on sale for $30 for almost 3 years.

Picked up the Heart at Costco for 68.99, in some areas it’s even less. Pretty good.

That bottled opened up a little bit over the last 3 weeks since I’ve gotten it. And mannn that juice is so damn good

It just hit the shelf in Maine and I grabbed one. I tried it alone and thought it was ok but I didn’t think it was as good as many of the wood finished series. I later compared it with three MM private selects from Damon’s Beverage (a local liquor store that does a ton of barrel picks) and all three private selects beat it. It was fine, but at the price I paid I would probably buy 46CS for less money and enjoy it just as much or more.

Great video! Love the Heart release, better than BEP and I may be the only one but I like it better than Cellar Age. Cheers

Curious where you got your shelving from? Looks very durable and perfect for bottles.

BEP was my favorite of the license plate series ... the one I got was 110 proof though and I've heard that there were lower proof versions of it. In any case, cool ... I hope I find the Heart Release now.

Nice blind wonder if the Ben Holladay Rickhouse Proof Soft Red Wheat would do well against that competition?

Did Makers Celler Age improve after being open a while? I was able to taste a sample soon after it was released on a fairly fresh crack and thought it was good but I had liked a couple of the wood finishing series better at the time. Could have just been my palate that night.
@hoobeydoobey12674 ай бұрын
a friend had the first release (23). I thought it a wall of wood. He said when the bottle got down to half it opened and became very good. I have the 24 I grabbed 2 weeks ago and love it. The MM sweetness comes thru but aged as the oakiness comes onto the palate. Incredible bottle. Meanwhile MMCS is on the shelf a great bottle for cheap.

It's not bad, but I can't say that I'm wowed. It definitely doesn't surpass FAE-02 for me, let alone Cellar Aged. That said, it's not a bad bottle for the money these days.

I picked up a recent Ohio private selection pick "Ohio Orchard Select" that I liked better than Heart.

The 107 would be last for me. 👎 The bottle took me three years to finish, I never wanted to reach for it.

I'm with you. I had a small pour of it last weekend at a share. I went to drain pour it but one of the guys said he'd take it. I do blinds with it against MM101 and Southern Star Paragon BiB. Guests don't know what they're drinking. Then they find out OWA came in dead last. Most have picked MM101 as the the winner and SS Paragon as #2. One friend picked those two in reverse order with OWA last. Last weekend a new comer liked OWA as it was her first sip in the blind and didn't care for the other two. Then she went and reverse order and found she preferred SS Paragon and MM101 better. The two winners are shelf items. No hunting or secondary needed.
