Visited Preseveration this past weekend. They have a new Rare Prefection 8 yr blend of 3 KY bourbon that I got to sample. Very good and their tour and tasking was awesome.

Preservation Distillery is awesome. Very underrated. Nice tour but their high proof bourbon tasting is the BEST tasting you can do in all of KY. The tasting is spectacular.

Preservation is pricey but quality juice. I didn't appreciate their product when I first started but now that I have some time under my belt, I won't pass a pour up. Hope to see you at Bourbon on the Banks.

I totally agree on the $250. A little steep for something that'll sit on the shelf.

Finally got a bottle of that Disco 11 which is 73% 13yo Kentucky (rumored to be Turkey) and I gotta say that old bourbon really is special stuff but the price has to be right.

Agreed. OF 1924 is way over-priced. HM is currently over-priced as well for what it is. Both are very good but are a "Hold" for me until the price comes down.

Knob Creek 12 is excellent but it retails in Virginia for around $85.00 and is available about twice a year but the single barrel Knob Creek 9 is around $60.00 is excellent too and its always on the shelf. Next time you are in Florida the 12 is always available and its around the same price as Virginia.

Henry McKenna in Houston now is $70- $75. Which is about $10 more than what it was 3 months ago. I agree, not nearly good enough to justify price.

I have statesman at 35 around me so I was shocked to see it at first but for over 50 it doesn't quite hold up. I think at the 35 it has a place tho

Henry McKenna 10 yr used to collect dust on the bottom shelf at $29 until it was named best 10 yr bourbon of the year. Now it's $60 and hardtop find. Go with Russell's Reserve10 yr.

That’s funny when I got Henry McKenna 10yr it was $29.00 every day for years i would pick it up a couple times a year weller green$16.99 and 107 weller $18.99 and for all (3) we’re on the shelf far as the eye could see😂old forester birthday bourbon $49.00 all day long though that was a expensive bottle back in the day😂😂😂😂

Pricing is an ongoing problem with bourbon (the entire economy). I think we may to get to the point where we buy less or the industry figures out how make great bourbon more inexpensively. Which could lead to younger juice with more finishes. We may already be seeing that.

My liquor store busted a few of those up and I got to buy a 1910 old Forester!!!! It’s one of my favorites now

You can find McKenna all day at 50-65$ (depending on the shop) in New England. Not my cup of tea so I always pass on it. Can’t imagine paying 80$ for it!

Henry McKenna BiB used to be sub-$30! The last one I bought it had risen to $40. Consumers have been brainwashed into accepting these idiotic current prices.

I have not had either one of these. I enjoyed the RR 10Y and Eagle Rare but the ER is really tough to find. I even thought Buillett 10Y was pretty good as well.

Eagle rare and Russell's reserve are better than both for half the price. I always purchase a pour before I buy a bottle over 100$

These 2 are not even on the same planet as far as how good they are. HM BIB is hot garbage. The taste reminds me of the smell of commercial floor cleaner. The OF 1924 is fantastic. I'll take it all day long at MSRP.

The 5 members of my whiskey club just blinded 1924, 1920, President’s Choice, and Cooper’s Craft 100. All 5 of us easily put 1924 in last place out of the 4 bottles. Just wild how different everyone’s palettes and preferences are in the whiskey world. Good selection of bottle finds for you guys this year already! Love the content!

It’s all about location. We can get Henry McKenna for 55-65 in the St. Louis area at most places, but a lot of places charge secondary prices on Eagle Rare at 80+ and it’s Rare to spot one in the wild.

Henry McKenna disappeared for a couple of years but it is everywhere now in MN and I can get it easily for $60 and the last two times for $49.99 if I hunt just a bit. For me, it's a no-brainer and an easy biy.

When I first bought a Henry McKenna I paid $35. My local shop raised the price to $39 after he sold through 2 cases very quickly. It then jumped to $99. No one was buying it so he dropped it down to $65. Asking price on the 1924 $199

Jack Daniels 12-year (batch 2) is probably the best bottle I was able to get so far this year...got it for just slightly above MSRP
