As requested, the Cyberpunk Red game from my group of new players last Saturday! Now for the record, this is made via TaleSpire. The game itself took place inside of Foundry VTT. The models are not direct copies of the player character's appearances. I am just using TaleSpire to help tell the story.
The focus of this video should be purely on the audio, as recreating it exactly on screen as it happened would have taken quite a while. This is meant to be quick and to give an idea of what's going down, just so it can be followed. And as always all relevant links and credit are located below.
This was done with a burnt tongue, coffee teetering on the edge, and pure memory. I always felt that no script for stories like this feel the best!
But anyway, I hope this satiates curiosity about Cyberpunk Red and how games can play out. Also, yes in the end only 2 players were in combat, and I was actively tweaking the encounter so that they would not be completely swarmed. Their next game is going to be dealing with the leftover NCPD and hopefully...getting paid.
I'm not expecting this video to be popular, it's really me just telling the story of last week. The roughness is intentional, I am wanting this to be close to if you are sitting down with me as I tell this story. Clean cuts are for the Rundown videos after all! I'll see you all in the next Cyberpunk Sitdown!
And if anyone wonders about the rolls, I actually do public rolls visible to my players. I'm a GM that enjoys seeing where the story goes. The amount of fight that single NCPD officer had in him is legendary. The 10s. Those damn 10s.

And I also want to do something here too, I actually would like to shout out to my players and allow them the chance to talk here too in this pinned comment's replies. If comfortable, feel free to share you viewpoints and reasonings. Hell, share moments from the game I didn't even mention or forgot to! But yeah, this is nothing without my players. Never will be.

2 of 4 players don't commit to a full session, with one not even showing up at all. Painfully authentic TTRPG experience. I understand that life gets in the way, though. Glad to see Talespire being used. Recently got it myself to use in my games, and I'm excited to see its progress.

Sometimes it can't be helped. I'm not a perfect GM either at times. Mouz was present for 3/4ths of the game, it was only the last hour he had to head out. We had planned for 2-3 hours tops, so if anything, that falls on me as a GM. And same, I wish more people would give TaleSpire a try, but the moment they see it costs money they always get cold feet.

@@DiceTTRPG I think the price scares people off because a lot of other VTT systems only require the DM to pay for a license, whereas Talespire requires everyone to purchase it. It looks like a great system, maybe someday the devs will change their mind about a player version.

@@jediwheels1781 Very fair point, I use Foundry for 95% of my games because only I had to purchase it. Last time I was able to get a nice payout, I actually bought TaleSpire for my current main players as I was lucky enough to catch it on sale. There are a few features I do wish they'd add, too. But the main ones I want are often voted for so I'm not in a rush. It's great to do scenes with, but I won't deny, my favorite VTT is Foundry.

This is great. I've been wanting cyberpunk red content since just before 2077 release (it was foreign to me prior) but aside from the short promo session with the creator, couldn't find much. This is great content. Especially since it's a condensed version and addresses the issue of watching actual plays. I love APs but sometimes the fumbling takes away from my enjoyment. This is like watching a movie rehearsed show but still with the benefits of improve!

I am glad you liked it. I already spoke with my players, and they are encouraging me to continue doing this too. I used to be a giant fan of watching actual plays, but that was also when I worked overnight shifts and could listen to them while working. I have a direct inspiration I am pulling from with how this video was done, and I will do more.

I don't think I will ever experience this since I don't know enough proper roleplayers and have rarely roleplayed myself. Please, upload more summary videos about these guys continued adventures in Red, I am mesmerized.

There are a few Discords I can recommend, but straight up look in on the Foundry VTT Discord and the R. Talsorian Games Discord. I have one myself, I still don't know if I'll fully ever open it up to folks (Because I know I don't have the time to moderate a server right now) but yeah, check those 2 out. I recommend them both for finding games. Foundry VTT: discord.gg/foundryvtt R. Talsorian Games (The Publisher): discord.gg/awMVstnW

Thanks for the great insight! Did you prepare a Netarchitecture for your runner when he jacked in or did you improvise that as well? How did it look like? I have trouble improing architectures as to how or even if theyd be ICEed or what to find. :)
@DiceTTRPG

For that session, since I was going purely off of Easy Mode, I winged it. A big help for making NET Architectures has been the Companion App. If you can't figure one up yourself, you hit the randomizer and boom, you got one. A smart idea is to set a budget for the location they are trying to run in, and then how much they'd spend part of that budget on a framework. And when push comes to shove, get them using that Basic Tech or Electronics/Security Tech.

Was thinking of getting talespire but this does look cool. Do you have to download the characters and maps from somewhere else or does the game have this already ?

It has basic models with it, but not a large library for Sci-Fi like it does Fantasy. For models, you either mod them in, or just straight make them via HeroForge and link your account to HeroForge for 3D Digital purchases. If you're subscribed too to HeroForge, they give you a pack every month or two of more minis.

I recommend Foundry for a 2D VTT. For TaleSpire, I say wait maybe...a month. They're preparing to allow player modding in an easier manner. It's on sale right now though, so it's up to you. TaleSpire requires everyone to buy it, each. Foundry is just a GM purchase and then anyone can connect to you. I use Foundry more than TaleSpire. And I recommend Foundry over TaleSpire for new groups as it's less of a financial investment right off the bat. But if you got the money to spare, TaleSpire.

This video showcases talespire very nicely for cyberpunk red, thanks a lot! I think I'll give it a go. I'll buy it as a GM and stream my screen to my players so they won't have to commit to buying the software, only if they want to move their tokens in the future. Are the cyberpunk assets included or is it an additional dlc? Is it possible to find pre-made maps?
