All your videos have been super interesting to someone who recently purchased a Yamaha G5 made in Japan in 1967. It needs some finish work for sure so any videos you make prepping and spraying lacquer would be helpful. Please consider doing voice overs. Your insight is very valuable. Thanks!

Great Video. I am looking into getting into repair work. I know polyester can be in very short demand, along with several other types of finish. It seems the trade is not being passed down. I love the meticulousness of the craft. Any and all information helps just to understand how different chemicals and bonding agents work with one another.

Watching the timelapse with your narration in the audio is quite therapeutic.

What type of buffer and pad is that? What polish do you use with it? Seems like a solid vs a liquid?

Great job Jacob what chemical in the tin did you use for wiping after sanding…and what was the buffing soap you used with the big buffing wheel. Many thanks

At the very beginning of the video? Acetone. While wet sanding with the higher grits, soapy water. Menzerna gw16 compound.

Question for you: I just obtained a flap wheel and it has a myriad of threads flying out of it. Will that eventually dissipate with use?
@JacobEmch913 күн бұрын
Hi there! That’s normal. Get a buffing rake and either stand on it or clamp it firmly to a table. You’ll need to clean the wheel with the rake periodically.
