That’s a great rear kitchen, putting the fridge in the slide and maxing out the counter space. One of the cleanest over the dinette entertainment set ups I’ve seen. So many look as if they add the TV from the parts bin as an afterthought. Like those floor vents, if they’re available aftermarket I’d be looking to upgrade the older styles (heads up parts department). I’d go with the largest theater seat available with his and hers center arm rests. Great Price!

Yes on theater seats, but you can't order them as these are all a limited number pre-made like 500 per unit is what I was told... One guy said they were sort of test driving the idea based upon customer feedback and a few internal ideas (three bunks/storage door). It is sort of a quality package with fewer bells and whistles and an affordable price... It's set up for lithium batteries, but you get lead acid...saving about 1800 bucks for example. No self leveling but compensating with the front lifting levelers and rear stabilizer saving four figures. Stuff like that.

Unfortunately I live with a guy who will NOT take his boots off until he goes to bed 😢 Just a heads up for younger folks: try to train them young 😅. I prefer theater seats for the reclining comfort since I'm old. I do like the clean simplicity of this rig. Just trying to get my Bluetooth hooked up is a pain and now I realize I can't control the thermostat with it anyway so may just not bother with the Bluetooth. excellent unit, road access is acceptable enough, can get to the fridge, and could sleep on dinette bed if need be overnight.. noticed very easy access to upgrade solar controller yourself... nice. i would go with theatre seats for this one instead of sofa. i always like tv above window rather than on televator in front of window, i like to see both at same time, and is cheaper to do as well.

Love this RV.. as you said everything you need. My one thing I wish they would change is the under the bed storage. We have started removing the panel at the foot of our RV beds. to be able to slide laundry baskets and totes out to access items is SOO much easier then lifting the bed. This is a wish for most RV’s, not just this cougar. Agreed on the dinette access. A door or drawer would be awesome. I personally would keep the tri-fold sofa. Although the theater seating is more comfortable, the extra sleeping is a must. Just in case our adult child comes with us, or more importantly another couple wants to get away with us. I will survive without the footrest and drink holder to be able to have friends come with us. We live in Grizzly bear country.. so no throwing them in a tent! Great RV and as always great review!

We just bought this 5th wheel last week in OK. Praying the predicted hail/tornado for tomorrow does not get her like the camper we are replacing. This is going to be super fun, we got the theatre seat options, I mentioned to the dealership to check the lapseal on the front top, got a extra handle for the stairs (for my daddy (88yrs old)), still figuring out the bed, we have the mattress from our last camper, but it is a true queen and may present a problem opening the drawers in the closet near the end of bed. Love the size, as we plan to go on long trips in retirement so the smaller the easier getting into those state/national parks. Going to get a small generator, cover the piping underneath the rig. Could double tow our boat, too as my husband has mentioned. Traded in the 1500 for the 3/4 ton, got the hitch bought and installing it tomorrow (went with an Anderson Hitch). It is camping season and we do our maiden voyage to our local lake next Thursday- Sunday. Josh, thank you so much for doing all these videos and mentioning all the stuff (especially what to have checked). You share your knowledge and we are all somewhat versed on what to ask about. The one big thing I would change is get rid of that dwarf-sized bed and put in a 60x80 residential-size queen bed. And from what you said, Cougar is aware of the need to make this so. Other than that, I can live with everything else. I prefer the theater seating and a propane/120 volt fridge, so it's nice to know you can get them. I like that it doesn't have the touch screen command center I see on other Cougars. I love the high tech in my vehicles, but it makes no sense on a trailer. I prefer the old-fashioned switches and push buttons for battery and tank status. I'm 6' 2" and three things I always look for are an 80 inch long bed, elbow room on the toilet and standup room in the shower. Once Cougar fixes the bed situation this will be an excellent trailer.

I had pretty much given up on a fifth wheel...until I saw the bunk house version of this...under 32 feet just barely over one of my checkboxes but UNDER 10K GVWR... And well under 15K pin weight. I have a 2500 Hemi so I'm good there, but less is always more when towing a trailer... The wife wants a fifth wheel, I'm good with a travel trailer. I don't want to spend 3500 bucks for the heavy bed hitch and a whole new set of logistics but...the BH version of this has brought me back to at least looking at THIS particular brand and the sport 2700BH. The storage on the bunk house is pretty amazing and we really like the three bunk/storage approach with the outdoor slam latch door. Our sales guy said the most common thing he is hearing about that back bunk is how "dog friendly" it is... I'm like, hmmm, I could put a little wall halfway in and use the outside for storage and the inside part for the dog bed... I do like how they made the front "stabilizer" an actual electric lift support with the back a PX1 "stablizer" saving likely four digits in price self leveling would entail. But the build is still a better build with the hyperflex floor? NO WOOD to rot and mold and mildew. Simple things that make life easier like the struts under the front bed, built in 200 watt solar on top with easy to access add on solar...if you want, a HUGE gray tank (extra nights out without using the tote gray tank). Even a "private" bunkroom is unique in anything under 34/35 feet. We like, and even the price is attractive... I just wish the wallet was a bit thicker...

Nice trailer. I would still seriously look at using a 3/4 ton for towing due to the trailer height and the frontal area that sits above the truck cab roof. Both are pretty big sails and I think the heavier truck will have fewer white knuckle tows under windy conditions. On our old Micro Minnie the roofing membrane over the roof decking seams was left loose like the video shows here. By the end of the first summer the membrane had tightened up so the roof appeared flush but still allowed the decking to expand and contract underneath. YMMV but I am willing to accept a straight line bubble over decking seams assuming the rest of the roof is well adhered.

Not sure if it would be possible, but I would move the pantry to next to the entry door and slide the dinette (or a table and chairs 😉) toward the upper deck. Get that pantry to where it belongs! I like not getting up to change the temp, start/stop the exhaust fan, run the awning(s) in and out, etc. If you're going to spend that kind of money, get some convenience. Second, scrap the import tires for Goodyears. The imports came on mine and three of my four failed in the first year. People overlook the importance of the tires. This is a great offering. I have a half ton trucks that has 1735lbs of payload capacity, so the size and weight makes this the first 5th wheel that I would consider. I also like the simplicity of the systems. My current travel trailer has the Bluetooth command system and I have no use for it. It just compliates the rats nest of wires behind the control panel. I don't understand why Cougar didn't stick to the floor plan of the 23mle. Why go to a floor plan that has poor travel access when you produce a similar unit that has great travel access. Great layout except road mode, can't sleep or use the head. We like Loves for the dog parks and there's not space to spread out there. Thanks for the videos, really enjoy them.

I think im sold on its kissing cousin the 23mls. It corrected the road mode issue. I was making a list of things to cover but at the end, the storage will solve all those. One thing that makes me scratch the head is why is there no generator prep? That would round both out really nice 🍻

Does Cougar plan on making a sports model larger than the 2100RK without bunks? We are just a couple looking for a 30 ft camper without bunk s with the looks of the sport. We currently have a Cougar 22RBS
@JoshtheRVNerd Жыл бұрын
I know of no plans for that But what size would you like to see?
@brendabee97510 ай бұрын
We have bought this camper. We really wish Keystone would have been consistent as far as their tires. We would have preferred to have paid a little more for the Goodyear Endurance tires. We felt like it was a pay me now or pay me later. We would have rather had the better tires. Other than the tires we are very pleased so far with our camper.
@brendabee97510 ай бұрын
We would have loved the ladder on the back on the camper. We will probably add that later.
@JoshtheRVNerd10 ай бұрын
I think the tires dropping down from goodyears is an intentional part of the price-focused nature of this Sport series. The rest of the cougar family retains Goodyears The ladder is another of those cost-focused items on the sport vs normal cougar series

Like the size of this 5th wheel. Don’t like having no access to bathroom during road mode. Don’t like dinette do have doors to access under seats. Would be nice for optional table and chairs. Must have full sized queen bed. Needs ladder mounted and a fireplace. Do away with fart fan even if optional upgrade. This model has lack of optional upgrades. Not sure how comfortable or how long seating cushions would last. Nice job with video Josh. Loved the Outdoors RV 25RD, but someone beat me to buying it.

Oh man really?? Well pretty sure they’re still making that one!

Josh, can auto leveling be added to this? Its small, but it is still a 5th wheel ... would be aggravating to try to level this thing up right
@JoshtheRVNerd Жыл бұрын
I cannot as it turns out. That’s one of the differences on the sport series versus the full cougar line.

Good price. I don't like that furniture. It just looks chintzy and I'm guessing it won't last long. Why not out a small linen cabinet above the toilet? At least enough to store a few towels. Large blank wall in the living area could also handle a small cabinet. Overall it's a solid layout for a tiny 5th wheel. Road mode isn't a big deal for us. In an emergency I could put that slide out enough to get to the bathroom. The TV is a neck wrecker. Bottom line. It's a tiny RV. Storage will be limited. We have a Keystone TT and really wish it didn't have floor vents. One thing we really like is the outdoor kitchen. That little outdoor fridge allows us to leave the cooler and ice bags at home.

Great couples 5th wheel. Love the length and the weights too. I’d have the theater seating as it’s just me and the Mrs. There are definitely some compromises but I’ve yet to find an RV that doesn’t. While I like the layout of the rear kitchen I’m not sure I’d go with it. Being behind the axles I’ve heard everything in the cabinets/drawers gets jostled around quite a bit. Kind of like the kids in the back of the school bus. Are there other layouts in this sport line with same size and weights?
@JoshtheRVNerd Жыл бұрын
While that is true it’s more an issue on long rvs where the back end bounces more

Theater seat. Why do they build 5th wheels with the stairs on the other side from the door? The slide always closes them off and no access to the bedroom and bathroom. The theater seat/hide a bed when extended blocks the stairs too.
@JoshtheRVNerd Жыл бұрын
Shortest way to build this one
@robkitchen Жыл бұрын
They could have put the entry into the upper deck on the passenger side and then it would be accessible during road mode
