my dad died of bone cancer aged 51. He was the last of the 3 years national service, did his time in the RAF, was flying stores into Christmas Island when they were testing atomic bombs. many more like him died of exposure to radiation. the UK government has still not acknowledged their part in the service men's early deaths. as this song says we never saw eye to eye. I only really began to understand him when I new he was in his last months. my only regret is he never met my son and daughter and they never met their granddad.

Dad told me years ago....55 is the way to drive, 65 is as fast as I go, now when the limit is 70, people just aim their car and some go faster, Glad mom is still there to sing with the family on this song.....he would be there making it even more happy........

Dear Isaac's, I've follwed you since 1996. I love your ministry, your testimonies, your vulnerability, your missions, your transparent faith, and strength. This time in my life happens to be the worst ever. I have looked up your songs for so many reasons over the years: for joy, inspiration [wanting to 'feel' God's presence], for a sense of connectedness, a sense of church family, and for now healing. I cannot tell you how many memories I have of your sweet family, even though we've never met, your music feels like a faithful friend; still there awaiting a call and happily willing to listen. Thank you🤍

Heard the band tonight in The Villages FL. My wife, Lisa Haley and I seldom had the opportunity to catch other bands live unless we were also performing the same festivals. But since the Covid shutdowns put us off the road and out of work. So when our good friend John Paris Frantz invited us to the show tonight we couldn't resist. It was phenomenal! Tight backup band, great songs and an entertaining presentation plus heavenly vocals... Who could ask for more? And a Beatles cover no less! Terrific! I am now a fan. Good luck with Reba! You'll be killin' it!😀

I totally agree. Though this exact one is not their own song (It is a song by Mike and the mechanics) But their spin on it, is mesmerizing The instrumentation and harmonies are breathtaking. and it really captures the meaning of the lyrics.

I suffered the same fate with my dad. I haven't been able to move on and heal the one I feel I should have by now, so I find I need songs like this to remind me to keep trying my best. And that the path to acceptance of his passing without any closure does not have to take me any farther away from his memory and the legacy of our love for one another.

I had many differences with my Dad, it wasn't until my 30s that i resolved them, sadly at 49 i lost him.i wish he was still here, i have so much more i want to say. This song made me resolve those issues and difficult times we had when i was a child wat back when this was released. Do it today, go see him, son or daughter go to him and sort it, then enjoy your time you both have left together. RIP DAD (John) Thanks BA Robertson (check the writers version) it was his experience in the lyrics he wrote. just copy and paste this (ba robertson living years above ) and also you will hear the name of the young babys real name from the song, and there is a surprize at the end of video(i wont tell you,it will spoil it), you think this version makes you cry watch this one the way it was meant to be.

A beautiful and touching presentation by such a talented family. It came from the heart. My wife and I lost our dear son aged 50, from a massive heart attack in 2021. This song, "In the Living Years", has been a favourite of mine for many years. One blessing we have is to know we were the best of mates right up to the moment of his death, even as I was trying desperately to save him by doing CPR but couldn't. God has given us grace through the tough times and the loving memories we have. We can never take for granted the importance of the living years God gives us. God bless you The Isaacs for this lovely song. Lyn and Narelle Lockrey, Australia.

Love the song, love the arrangement, love the performance. The Isaacs are family who can sing and play anything and make it totally their own. This song is as relevant now as it was when it was first a hit. But I think what I like most about this video is how impeccably but casually it's performed. I mean, Sonja's mandolin playing is fantastic, yet she's sitting there with her legs crossed like it's the easiest thing in the world to play and sing like that! And there's so much energy to it and Becky's guitar playing that it sounds as full as if they had an entire band backing them. And then yes, Ben's smile is infectious and the lyrics seem to be particularly poignant to him. It's all just really beautiful and perfect.

2 years ago my father past away from motor neurons disease (MND) 2 years before that I had a big fight with him and stopped talking for the next 2 years and things just got worse for him. I was interstate and when I heard that he was not far away from passing, I tried so hard to get there to make things right, but wasn't able to get there in time, and I missed telling him that I loved him and was sorry for talking to him , it hit me hard so hard pride is a horrible thing . I found out later that he spoke to someone and said that he loved me ,and was proud of me , but I still missed out on making it right. This song means so much to me because of that so thank you. .
