You are loved Paul. This song came in 1988. I graduated high school in 1986 and in July 1987 my Dad and Brother were killed in a car wreck. So when my mom passed in July 2019 I came back to this song for solice. Best vocals on this planet. I'd give money to talk to you. I love everything you touch, it's golden.

Paul this will always hunt me down for the rest of my life. The day before he passed I told him when I get out of work I will go by to see you. If can count the time that would have get me to go to his town house it would be 10 minutes no to much time but I didn’t do it. Next the white a was driven I got the call. And even though I have listened this song before every time I listen it remains me that you have to look for your parents always no matter what. By far it’s the best song ever written. Seen this Dude a dozen times, absolute legend, what a singer & musician, this is the best version he's ever done in my opinion. My Father was very good to me then we fell out because he didn't think my then girlfriend was good enough. We never spoke for 25 years, however when he had a sudden heart attack I went to see him. He told me he deeply regretted his judgement & I left to come home. He died 1 hour later & I wish I had the chance to say a few things to his face. Now been married to the same girl for 43 years. RIP Dad.

My brother and my dad a strained relationship for many years. When mom and dad needed help he stepped up big to help them. Spending time with dad as he began to fade physically and mentally helped tear down the wall that both of them had built. He was a good son to our parents. My brother told me he heard this song right after dad passed away and broke down crying.

Wonderful. This song gets me every time. I was brought up by my grandad and I went against everything he said. I got jailed in 1994 for a gang fight in Glasgow. The last time my grandad saw me was when I got dragged out the house by the police. He died the day before my trial. I’ve moved on from the world of craziness (now a church pastor). I now sit with my 5 year old daughter and listen to this. She falls asleep while I sit with tears in my eyes, regretting that I never got to tell my grandad how grateful I was for him. Wish I told him this in the living years.

After his father dies, he discovers that he and his dad had a much stronger bond than he ever realized, and the son regrets not saying more while his dad was alive. It was written by group founder Mike Rutherford and the Scottish songwriter B.A. Robertson; the pair also co-wrote the first Mike + The Mechanics hit, "Silent Running (On Dangerous Ground)." Same here when my daughter was around two made plans for Myrtle Beach talked with my dad earlier in the yr ex said he not going to be around much longer. We need to go see him. So next yr got the call when ready to go back home from beach he suffered massive heart attack need to go to FL to sign to pull the plug. When got home was lying in bed exwife said quit sobbing your fault we should have been not there not drag daughter all around and now she never got to meet her granddad it's your fault.

Paul is an amazing solo artist that has the ability to heighten moods and attitudes. His music can lift your spirits in the toughest of times. He can elevate others that are already incredible musicians. Squeeze was awesome,fun,silly and had great lyrics. I thought they were perfect and unique with their style.
