Call me crazy, I know Ron Practiced this song over and over, but I can hear the slight hint of nervousness in his voice. Not because he didn’t think he can perform the song, but because he knew this song was gonna change the game. Forever. He was pushing barriers and limits, not only to his style, but delivery, sexual tone, and overall production. But then as the song progressed, you hear him get more grounded into his song and finish strong with the delivery, and assertiveness. Beast.
@scottythegreat111 ай бұрын
It's not his song. All the Isley brothers got writing credit, but Chris Jasper wrote most of their songs when he joined the group, including this.
@jaylene.turner652410 ай бұрын
Chris Jasper co-wrote and produced this,and had to do extensive work on it especially the ending. In a interview with Curtain Call, he said that he had sent everyone on a break,so he could rewrite the breakdown starting where Ron said “Let’s make love”.

@@NicoVellaFilm i don't know what "two points" you are referring to but it's very simple...my point is ONE they weren't ahead of their time unless they had a time machine... all of the good music from previous times was from THAT time and it was right on time neither ahead nor behind; it was just fine because we had incredible genius all over the place in literally EVERY genre of music and thats just facts dont get me started ... i guess james brown and elton john and paul mcartney and marvin gaye and prince and nile rogers projects (chic and sister sledge) and genesis and the police and (of course ) p-funk et al were ALL ahead of their time? this was ALL genius level stuff because they ALL were unique and innovative so to me thats cheap when someone says "they were ahead of their time" ...whats that supposed to mean exactly? thats all i'm saying; they were right on time and it was a beautiful thing

In the late 1940′s R&B was described as rocking and jazz based with a heavy and insistent beat. R&B was becoming popular because of it dance ability.12 Oct 2014

True Story...... It was the summer of 1983, and like EVERY other black kid, I had to accompany my mother to a house party, which basically meant me and about 8 other kids were confined to a room and not allowed to leave because our parents were smokin, drankin, playin music & cards n'shit😎 Well, there was a record player in the room, and we all perfectly divided up into couples and started dancin (sloooow dancin'), to The Isley Brothers "IN BETWEEN THE SHEETS." Now, the girl I was dancin' with was...BEAUTIFUL, she...chocolate, skin smooth as pimp talk, long thick jet black hair, smellin' like her older sisters Avon perfume and I held her tight, all night, no kisses, no grindin'... Just dancin', in a small room in St. Louis and falling in love. I don't remember her name and I never got her number, but I like to think that when she hears this song, she remembers a little brown boy in St. Louis, that held her close one night...... I notice that Ronald Isley of The Isley brothers and Biggie Smalls were both born on May 21 but 31 years apart. Ronald Isley was born in 1941 and Biggie Smalls was born in 1972.

Me as a underground music lover heard this sample and vocals sooo many times in house and hip hop beats and now that I finally found the origin I‘m truly blessed. Additionally because its from one of my fav bands. Basically it was in front of my nose all these years..
