Great to see your dad having a great time. What I would give to be there in the sunshine, all we have had in central VIC, is cloud, rain and cold winds for months. Time to head north again

I notice that you are burning the trees in piles(on top of the ground) Have you ever tried digging a trench(as deep as the Cat is tall) then throw some old tires in the bottom of the trench, then start pushing the trees and branches into the trench. A fire started in a trench utilities the 'chimney' effect and you get a very hot fire. You will also heve the added benefit of burying and rocks deep!

Took me a minute to figure out what you meant by working with Dale Evans and how much they tear up the ground and now I think it would be shame if you didn't name the next dozer Dale Evans :-) . Thanks for the great content, it's always a pleasure to check in on you guys.

Those drone shots when you were following your Dad, the paddock in the back ground, were they all of the contour banks that you guys built earlier this year? Seeing the crops growing over them now shows them off better than when they are bare. In a future video could you show some more shots of the banks and explain how they work?
@thejacksonbrothers2 жыл бұрын
Hi Damien, yep they are some that were built, the annoying thing is it’s hard to get footage of them working because when they are working its very wet😂😂

I remember when I was 13 in the early 70’s we had a D-8 cable dozer with pony engine that would when you hit compression if you didn’t push hard enough past compression it would kick me off the tracks and had to hold clutch lever with my leg when you had to turn
@dpeter63962 жыл бұрын
Yeah, the throw-out clutch on the pony pinion was wore out and wouldn't hold...... oh yeah!

Those walk in rakes almost always push a lot of dirt into the heaps. A full rake that replaces the blade will let most of the dirt pass through.

Crops are looking great Matt some great looking weather there too. We are going to be rained out by the middle of next week. I have a laugh when you fly the drone over to see your dad and he would be like that means Matt's not far away. Thanks for the video 👍

Tiny Tot!! - fits a theme ... I like it. Your farm roads look really good ... advantage of a grader in the fleet I guess. Just wondering ... do you grow Durum wheat and or Malting Barley ??? Still love the perspective of the drone shots and how the contour banks are highlighted by the cropping .... thanks for a great video Matt👍👍
@thejacksonbrothers2 жыл бұрын
Hi Julian, the non organic half of the development block is durum, we haven’t really grown durum before but we are this year for seed production. Usually our barley is either seed production or feed👍

Great seeing tiny tot working and Peter talking about it. Could you mention varieties of the various crops Matt please? Do you grow any 6 Row barley? And reasons for and against? Cheers

Hi Robert, I don’t know much about 6 row barley as not much if any is grown around here. I’m sure someone else may have an answer👍

I was thinking your stick rake might benefit more from lengthening the teeth leaving more room for soil to filter through without contacting the blade

Dad was enjoying the D4, Do you have many roaming critters on your farm?
@lt1nut2 жыл бұрын
Kids or women? Don't see much of them. Vermin or edible? Don't see much of them either. The little ones tend to scuttle about and are hard to see and the bigger ones come-and-go, usually in a small group. The large ones are generally not far off but to be safe its best to assume that they are always there watching everything and storing away nuggets of info for potential future use for their benefit; its extremely important to be mindful when more than one is around and weary when in a group pack. Fencing can help but can also be a detrimental double-edged sword. Sorry for the bad humor, I don't know why it popped up in my wee little brain this morning. OR why I thought I should share it! They are all kind of analogous no matter the species, ja?

I'm employed in earthmoving but it it is really great to see the interaction that you have with earthmoving and agriculture. I find your content very informative and satisfying to watch. Seeing all the work that goes on behind the end result is really an eye opener. I cannot think of the repercussions to farming that may possibly come should our stupid government follow what they are trying to do in other countries in regards to nitrogen emissions. Climate warming? What a joke, how can they claim that CO2 emissions contribute to global warming when CO2 is heavier than an air ? CO2 cannot rise into the air creating a blanket which promotes global warming. Also isn't CO2 a main ingredient that plants need to survive and develop? Anyway, great content!!
