Lyrics: Morning, it's another pure grey morning Don't know what the day is holding When I get uptight And I walk right into the path of a lightning bolt Siren of an ambulance comes howling Right through the center of town and No one blinks an eye And I look up to the sky for the path of a lightning bolt Met her as the angels parted for her But she only brought me torture But that's what happens When it's you that's standing in the path of a lightning bolt Everyone I see just wants the walk with gritted teeth But I just stand by and I wait my time They say you gotta toe the line, they want the water not the wine But when I see the signs I jump on that lightning bolt Chances, people tell you not to take chances When they tell you that there aren't any answers And I was starting to agree But I awoke suddenly in the path of a lightning bolt
@leonardselymes48108 жыл бұрын
Fortune, people talking all about fortune Do you make it or does it just call you. In the blinking of an eye Just another passerby in the path of a lightning bolt Everyone I see just wants to walk with gritted teeth But I just stand by and I wait my time They say you gotta toe the line, they want the water not the wine But when I see the signs I jump on that lightning bolt It was silent, I was lying back gazing skyward When the moment got shattered I remembered what she said And then she fled in the path of a lightning bolt

Fortune people talking all about fortune, do you make it or does it just call you, in the blinking of a eye there's another passer by in the path of a lightning bolt. - Everyone I see just wants to walk with gritted teeth but I just stand my ground and I wait my time you see you've gotta tow the line they want the water not the wine but when I see the sign I jump on that lightning bolt. - Silence I was lying back gazing skyward when the moment got shattered, I remember what she said and then she fled into the path of a lightning bolt.

Really superb. Bugg has the boyish good looks of a 1962 wide-eyed & fresh-faced Paul, the wordsmith chops of a young John, the clandestine introspection of George at his most salient, and a sly, audacious smirk that harkens back to a young Ringo, right down to the double-letter last name endings. With all that said, Bugg's style is an amalgam all his own: picture Woody Guthrie & Bob Dylan with sperm intertwined. Bugg is a natural-born lyricist in the most perspicacious sense of the word. His razor sharp style is juxtaposed with a brilliantly & intentionally hard-edged production that brings with it a musical accompaniment team who blow the doors off the canned & overproduced pop music that strangles the airwaves in today's day and age. Bravo, Jake (ps. 2k viewers must have dyslexic thumbs or drop kick puppies in their spare time).

Good to know there's young talented musicians not following the empty, shallow factory made bubble gum pop that sounds the same year after year no matter the artist and has been churned out dominating the charts since mid 2000's aimed at mainstream audiences. Seems most artists fall for big record companys hollow promises of success money & fame and end up compromising any personal artistic view. Plus this guy obviously has an healthy respect for past musicians that's paved the way for the musical freedom enjoyed today.

It's Jake Bugg. Indie folk pop because it sounds popular. If you or I heard Jake Bugg for the first time you get a sense of the popularity sound. Pete Seeger is folk with a few popular songs that are folk pop. For the most part Pete Seeger is folk. Just saying for the sake of a discussion.

it absolutely does have Country elements, he may not sing with a phony texas twang, but he is more country than 90% of Nashville these days.
@Garrett124010 жыл бұрын
eDuB1980s Dear me you're stupid. He is not country at all. Learn the elements of genres. Just because he plays the guitar in a rustic old sounding way does not make him country in the slightest. I'm from the south and was raised on classic and new country, and their is nothing parallel with Jake Bugg and country music. Even the most phony stars of Nashville are more country than Jake.

Not great at explaining my musical interpretations.I love how they sound a bit like velvet underground as well. I hope he does well. He is an original for the time we are in!! creedence would be proud to have their chord progression used in a modern day retro feeling song.
@ZiggyKrueger11 жыл бұрын
Dear Universal music Group. I am special agent Bugg, I have successfully infiltrated the hearts and minds of those who you have failed to win over in the past. By posing as the arch-nemesis to the mass-produced pop and pretending I'm an authentic and "real" song writer, I have convinced these people that I am the saviour of music. They are yet to realise that I am massively manufactured to present this image. By criticising others for not writing their own songs, I have successfully distracted them from my 3 man team of songwriters who assisted me in writing "my" songs. The image you carefully manufactured for me, has been a huge success, and those who question me are considered to not know "real music" thanks to the self-perpetuating myth of my genius. A myth you and the NME created, I thank you again for that. Adding noises to my record to make it sound poorly recorded and "real" has endeared me to millions. They are yet to realise that this makes my music just as manufactured as the pop songs they despise. My carefully chosen words and persona in interviews has convinced them that I am the answer to the problems in modern music and that I am the new Bob Dylan (even with my 3 man team of co-writers!). My songs about having a tough life, drugs, the police etc have made them forget that I am only a child and my only experience of any of these things was in my grand theft auto video game. Also, thank you for vetoing my suggestion of a song about the very hungry caterpillar, I appreciate now that my life must be presented in a certain way to win their affection. My tales of a "terrible" life growing up in a first world country with food, water, shelter and an education was another master-stroke. They think I've had a hard life and this makes them like me even more. They surely do not know the meaning of a hard life. Your mission has been a success, we have pulled the wool over their eyes. The decline of genuine song writers throughout the land has been assured, they are condemned to playing in pubs for another 10 years. I hail your glorious victory Yours special agent Bugg ( I can't take credit for this, i got this from a review on Amazon. Credit where its due)

@ufewlufewlx6059 жыл бұрын
ultramarineblue yea OK a lot of songs have similarities that is the way music evolves, bad moon rising is it self probably based on older music, folk songs, church songs or whatever.

This is brilliant music of today's generation! Not like that tiesto bollocks you kids listen to
@alabalatotasa8 жыл бұрын
You just look for attention. Having different tastes in music doesn't make you any special or mature. Everybody listens to what they like, stop bashing other music genres, it won't solve anything, instead try looking for people who love what you love, and you'll earn much more than from simply hitting on others on their taste in music :)

Don't worry he has a Hibs crest for his profile picture and uses the term 'You kids'. Clearly clueless.

The music you listen to doesn't change how mature you are, You could be listening to crappy sixties music and be inappropriate I personaly listen to Dubstep Rap and bassy music with an actual flow to it and im probably the one of the most mature kids in school and I go to an EBD school so yh

Good question, the video seems to be entirely filmed in Amsterdam, but I don't know any place where they have german signs.
@xDns18 жыл бұрын
Malory Sullivan I know.. what I mean is that the text on the sign is in German, not in Dutch. As in.. the language, not the country.
