You guys are amazing. 😊 I can't believe Martha the super biker in such a short space of time getting your test then a few green lanes and now you are doing the TET into the Arctic Circle ❤ An inspiration to all people young and old.. I'm binge watching and I hope you are enjoying every day. Mitch is looking after you very well. 💪😁👌

The key is to tour without the constant need of a signal. Bring a few good paper maps and a real compass as a backup. I have made motorcycle trips in most of Europe since 1978, sailing trips to Sweden and Norway plus solo sea kayaking trips in Greenland and New Zealand. Do not be a slave of "some signal" wasting fuel and time going back and forth. Just know where you are and where you are going. Enjoy your holiday! You are doing great! I loved the elk episode. We could not see anything and Mitch did not tell us what it was. Just like watching slides from our neighbours holiday in the sixties. But then you wrote "Elk" on the screen. Great. Finding small wonders along the road is what it is all about.

I feel for you guys, that amount of mosquitos is truly panic inducing. Strong of you to endure and carry on, I aborted my Finland TET cuz of the mosquitos. Later I caved in and bought the Thermacell gas driven bug repellant that creates a 20 square meter buffert zone around you. Pure heaven, it really works and so nice to eat in peace and no bugs entering the tent. I bought the backpacker model which will saves me money in the long run as I use those big gas canisters to cook etc. There is a portable model aswell but requires small gas thingys, both require mats that you replace after awhile (4 hours minimum). Expensive yes , but so worth it to get rid of the bugs.

If you're going to any foreign countries always check out the bank holidays! I have made that mistake couple of times myself, you know? Ten hours in a Indian train without nicotin and alcohol while having a huge hangover was the thing to make me to the check the local bank holidays in advance :D 580 kilometers in that train cost me less than 3 euros, though.

I've noticed a few times that you've avoided people or didn't want to speak to people and that's 100% your choice and as somebody with some social anxiety too I understand. But speaking to people is one of the special parts of travelling and the good thing is that if they're not very nice you don't need to see them again! 😁 Also please don't let things get you so down. Often it feels like small issues are turning into larger ones and keeping positive does help. I know it's often tough but that's what we sign up for and we always need to keep in mind that we're doing what we love and hard times make the best stories. Good riding!

Mosquitoes are part of being so far north. I am surprised that you have not met them before. You have been very lucky. I have had many days where the mosquitoes have drummed on the outer tent sounding like heavy rain. First time I slept late because I did not want to continue in rain. When I had to pee I found out that it was not raining and I had wasted the entire morning.

Thanks for visiting! Whereas you seemed to enjoy the trip so far, just wait when Norway opens up... Wow wow wow! Luckily there's still many amazing trips to follow, thank you for sharing! Some say some good mosquito repellants could be: 1. pitch oil mixed with olive oil, 2. lavender spray, 3. coconut oil. I haven't tested them myself, but i have good feelings about them.

thanks for a good vlog, it's normal with so many mosquitoes in the north, campfire and bug repellant are a good idea to have, moose can be really aggressive and dangerous, better not to stress them, especially if they have their calf near them.

Just buy some icaridin based repellant. DEET based works well too but it can degrade some plastics. These are the most common repellants sold and the substance is mentioned in packaging. Both are considered safe. DEET might cause eye irritation if it flows there with sweat so maybe use icaridin on your mosquito hat to avoid that. Also, you probably want to wash DEET away before sleeping but I guess you'd wanna wash yourself anyways before that. There's no mosquitoes in water so just go swimming. Just beware of pikes nipping your weenie. ;-)

That scene of Marth trying to pee followed by a drone shot….. what about when there loads of mosquitoes getting the drone out and then crouching under the drone to pee!? Maybe the down draft from the drone will blow all the mosquitoes away! Might not work but got to be worth a try lol

What exactly is the risk? You should have gotten repellant and also some cream for the bites. They dont carry nay desieces ao you only het a ictchy bite and the cream would take care of that.

Also Martha, it's abusive to mock others with words such an idiot, donkey, pee pee references and all that. I can't remember them all exactly, but it's thereabouts. You both are fantastic, but this is troublesome. Many women have got used to just saying whatever they want without reprocussions. Lot of it is ill-talk, gossiping etc. It's mental rape what's happening, that's slowly eating from inside. I hope it's something you both can get sorted out. Of course all this goes in both ways, but it's something that really sticks out of these videos.
