Hey Buddies
I've created this Patreon page to help with the production of my guitar tutorial videos. I'm not planning to change what I already do and I will continue to respond to requests regardless of someone being a contributor or not. I have therefore set the patron amount at the lowest level of just $1 for those who wish to show their appreciation and to help with the purchase of strings, picks, music paper, sharpie pens, hard drives and cups of tea.
Thank you
Jase

Yay!! I'm a rhythm player just graduating to leads, and was bashing my head and bleeding my fingers. Very nice tutorial, and I like how you say to play your own variations, and how you might be a bit off, but you have the guts of it for sure. I'm playing this in a show next week, my first time doing a solo, and this has been a big help!!

tip: point the microphone you're using away from your strings and at the amplifier... that way the sound of your strings being picked isn't interfering with what the viewers are supposed to be hearing.

Thanks Jason! Quick question, when you see Prince playing this live, you can hear the wah pedal doing its thing but he's running around dancing. Do you think someone was working the wah pedal backstage? I've never seen him actually stepping and working the wah pedal. Thanks!
@thejaseguitar
@thejaseguitar 8 жыл бұрын
+Alberto Diaz You know, I saw Prince live 4 times and asked myself the same question. Was it an auto wah he was using or was someone on the sound desk rocking a pedal in time with his licks?
@Soulsaman
@Soulsaman 8 жыл бұрын
+Jason Read Hey Jason, thanks for replying! I read in an interview a long time ago that he used an Auto Wah pedal. Knowing that he loved Boss pedals, I found that Boss makes an Auto Wah pedal. I bought one and tried it but the pedal sweep works with a knob that you turn up for faster sweeps and lower for slower. So if you have 2 songs with different tempos, it won't work on both. I remember I couldn't really get it sound like what I was hearing live from him. I'm gonna agree with you and say that maybe he had someone working his pedals behind the scenes. It makes sense since he did so many things live (singing, dancing, and playing guitar).

The outro solo is similar to how he's played it live a few times but just like the other attempts on KZbin it's nothing like the album version, no I don't need to be bombarded with "you do better" bla bla bla I'm just saying it's not the same as the record.
