I totally agree, life is a voyage of learning. That Chevy was a great truck and will be again. Your in the process of sorting out your manifold, appears there is a learning curve for this.

Nice work, you should check all of the outlets and make sure it has not warped, I would always have my engine machine shop surface the outlets to ensure that I did not break the manifold when i reinstalled it because of shrinkage

Should a person drill the ends of the crack before you weld, to help reduce future crack is the same area?

I did drill the bottom end of the crack, did I not mention it? Thanks for watching.

To weld cast iron properly you have to heat it to 500 degrees before welding. Either in an oven or with a torch.

That was muggy welds claim to fame with that specific kit was that you were not supposed to preheat. Thanks for watching!
