Jeff was the very first comedian I ever saw live, probably 20 years ago. I've seen probably close to a hundred comedy shows, several hundred comedians including Jeff a couple more times, and Jeff is probably still the most down to earth, funniest, cleanest comedian I've ever seen.

I don't know why---something on another network during the same time-slot, probably---I wasn't a regular watcher, which I heartily regret. Seeing top-notch comedians on his show is amazing, so I'm really glad KZbinrs have posted so much of his stuff. I bought the "Blue Collar Comedy Tour" boxed set, a couple of years ago because like Carson, Leno, Letterman, and Craig, their comedy is timeless; I laugh just as hard every time I watch 'em.

It's funny that when Jeff talked about golf he said only about 2% of players are any good. My college golf coach told us once that we were better than 98% of the golfers in the world. I never thought it was true but I guess if Jeff Foxworthy says so, why not.
@underthetrees4780

It's true, I've always said the secret to golf is everyone sucks. New golfers get so self-conscious on public courses, but you're on a public course, lots of triple digit scorecards out there.

Some not well known facts. I worked at the kwik-pick in Hapeville, Ga. The only grocery store in town. Hapeville is where Jeff is from. Jeff went to Hapeville High School. He was a couple years older than me so I never got to meet him. Hapeville is also the home to the original Chick-fil-a. That is where we hung out on Friday and Saturday nights. Actually it was called the Dwarf House. They had a small door at the front of the restaurant that the children could come through.

Agreed, Claiming Light. Those of us below the Mason-Dixon line followed him because everything resonated. Now, I know the punchlines to all the old stuff. It may be funny to those hearing it for the first time, but its also disappointing to realize how many times the older fans have heard him say it.

Jeff is a stud! He's not a natural. Being in front of people visibly scares him. He doesn't know if he can connect with a Scott, or if he's sophisticated enough to even be on a show like this. But he throws himself out there, fights through the challenge and it comes out gold! What an inspiration.

OMG, I tried to learn to play golf since my husband enjoyed the game, but I spent too many years playing softball, and I literally got about 4 good shots on a 9 hole course. One day we played at a course we hadn't played before, and he'd hit a ball into the rough, and when we got to it, there was a tree about 5' in front of his ball. He was trying to line up where he could hit it and get it anywhere near the green without hitting any of the trees. When he took the shot, I was standing a couple feet away from him and when he hit that ball, it hit that tree dead center, came straight back and landed a couple feet farther away from the tree. I was rolling on the ground laughing to the point I was crying. In a joking way, he just looked at me and told me to shut up. It just made me laugh more. Another time, we were playing with his brother who was so much fun to be around before he met his wife, but on the 8th hole, he had the first tee shot and it sliced over a hill so he took off walking to find his ball. I hit next and at least mine stayed on the fairway, even if it only went 100 feet. My husband got his ball teed up, he'd taken a couple of practice swings, then got to where he was going to hit, and his ball went straight for where his brother was still walking and nailed him right in the ass. Once again I was on the ground laughing. My brother-in-law wasn't laughing and my husband was just pissed that he sliced as badly as his brother. We spent an hour in the club house drinking beer afterwards, and we were laughing about it then, and then went back to my in-laws and told everyone there what had happened and I lost it again. That was the most fun I ever had playing golf. We came up with a rule that if it took me more than 10 strokes to get the ball in the cup, we stopped counting at 10. I was horrible.

I've been a staunch Letterman fan and have not paid any attention to Craig Ferguson at all. Definitely better than those Jimmys. Kimmel won't let a guest finish a sentence, and Fallon does that "six year old brat with the irritating giggles" bit. Ferguson could handle any situation without making it a "look at me" moment, and was always great with even the most difficult (or boring) guest. It figures they wouldn't keep him, he was too good for the moronic audiences out there today.
