Nieuw Amsterdam: Renovation Before & After (Holland America)

We sailed on the Holland America Nieuw Amsterdam for seven nights in March 2024. And we previously sailed on the same ship in May 2019 and March 2018. Prior to our most recent sailing, the ship underwent a refurbishment in December 2023. The refurbishment included the transformation of several venues, ADA modifications, and some cosmetic enhancements. In this video, we’ll show you some before and after comparisons from our cruises aboard the Nieuw Amsterdam.

For all the HA ships which had the Lincoln Center music, truly sorry that relationship has been terminated. Thanks for showing the updated changes. We sail NA in Oct. for her coastal transit.

I agree on the heated loungers, that was one of my favorite things, they are so relaxing! They still show them on the website for the thermal spa link & they talk about having them in the description - bummer. I just purchased the package last week for the cruise we’re going on next month. :/

They're not necessarily gone. They just weren't in the room they used to be in. We didn't have an opportunity to check the rest of the spa to see if they were moved somewhere else. You may want to contact Holland America directly to double-check.

In January they opened a coffee bar in the Lido, excellent that we didn't have to go to the crows next for our specialty coffees

I was onboard January 2023 and returning March 2025. Some of these changes had already taken place. It will be interesting to see what is new after the refurbishment.

Note: The ceramic loungers are still onboard. We confirmed with HAL that they are still on board.
