This is a demonstration of 2 nozzles with front jets attempting to clear a massive Bougainvillea root blockage from a pipe. The Australian Bougainvillea has an extremely tough root that can bend eel cables and prevent jetter nozzles from clearing pipes all together. Here we show the Warthog nozzle first then the Double Ended Root Ranger Nozzle. Both powered by the same machine - a 5000psi Racejet at 21LPM through 60m 1/4" and 60m 3/16" Armadillo Premium jet hose via a Mustang Nozzles Remote Mini Reel using quick connectors.

OK I have five warthog nozzles, the big ones for 18 gallons a minute 4000 PSI machine and some of those nozzles are over 12 years old. There are limitations to everything but I have to tell you those friggin warthogs are amazing. There's definitely a trick to using them. And you're right they lose their effectiveness when they stop rotating so the trick is to feel the rotation in the hose which you can do fairly easily. Run up to the stop point pounded a little bit and when you feel the nozzle stop rotating pullback 1 inch maybe 2 inches and sit there and chew. Counting in your head maybe 30 seconds in one exact spot. You're using the water like a saw blade. It's a good technique and it usually lets you inch in little by little.

Definitely didn't give the warthog near as much time to punch those roots as the root ranger. We use warthogs exclusively and they are impressive tools. For spinning issues when the roots are especially thick, we use a small punch out nozzle to open up a little space. One question I would have, is that back facing nozzle on the root ranger going to destroy the life span of that hose its blasting constantly?

Jeremy Williams Because the Hose is smooth it won’t damage the surface. They are both great nozzles 😊

We use Worthogs daily, and occasionally we get stuck. I'm positive that the Rootranger is a " get stuck on a regular basis " jetter. And those roots the size of your thumb....You're digging it up, and repairing the pipe because the integrity has been compromised anyway.

I'm looking to get a jetter for residential probably 4000psi 4gpm just for flushing buildup and grease. For roots I have a RodRunner by General Pipe Cleaners and K50 by Ridgid. A man contacted me to locate what me thought was a break in his claytile. He had already used a drum machine with 3/4" cable with no success. Found it was just a huge root mass with my camera and the Rodrunner's 11/4" cable made short work of it.

You guys are comparing a bad ass warthog vs a very good jetting nozzle. Sadly, the demo isn’t accurate. Warthog uses the pressure from the rear jetting heads to demolish the build up. The forward attack tip has nowhere near the force of the rear Jets. The price is definitely on the premium side. However, if you ever come a across a LARGE root nat at 400’ (or any distance) you can count on a warthog to do the job right!

This root ball was pulled from a drain after both an eel and a Jetter had a go at it. These roots are like hardwood.

Twin City Drain i always used auto feed machines. .if that was inside 100 feet i would have cabled it..i don't mind sharpening blades and pulling back a foot or so of roots at a time..just like the jet, you cant force it..as long as the machine is feeding and retrieving i can spend an hour or so..

Stay away from Piranha hoses if you're buying a jetter. They are the worst hoses I have ever used!! The rear spray of the root ranger would likely shred up a Piranha hose

warthog sucks, ranger rocks. Even one sided would have worked well. And its 3 times cheaper. But I made my own , just connected 2 turbo nozzles from amazon into self made adapter coupling . For $40 you cant beat it and it beats $1500 overpriced warthog nozzle , its way overpriced
