Great coat, I love that hat Maybe that could bring my passion back What's that I stumbled on? A pebble lying on my track? At one time, the moment was mine The thrill of it was all I saw But suns rise and they shifted the tides And the glory days were no more When you work so had Say, what's the point in having all that gas? When you work so hard Say, what's the point in doing all that jazz? You say I need help Because I'm dreaming too much Because I'm drifting with my mental health Well, good luck with the natives on that But I think we might want something else When you work so had Say, what's the point in having all that gas? When you work so hard Say, what's the point in doing all that jazz? When you cry your eyes out Hey come on, baby when's the second chance? When you cry your eyes out Hey come on, tell me when it's time to dance And, oh, the beat goes on The street so cold You can't go home alone No matter how you try, the beat goes The beat goes on And, oh, the big bad world You can't go home alone The street so cold No matter how you try, the beat goes The beat goes on Can you tell me when it's time to dance? Can you tell me when it's time? Someday I'll love what I can't find in you I need some kinda love worth dancing to Hey, come on baby, let your hair hang down I need to find some kinda love

I've been hearing this on a CD for a while at work during my shifts for a few months now, but was never able to get the name of it. I finally got it today, by a stroke of luck. This song captivated me from the moment I heard it. People need to seriously shut up and stop whinging about the video clip (which is fine) and just appreciate the song for what it is.

The video is beautiful. It's about being comfortable in your own skin. In the start she's wearing plain white, tries many things and in the end feels best in she wore. She came full circle, similarly to the lyrics. Let your hair down, be who you are. Be beautiful.

if you dont like the "strange" dance in this video, you may need to change your perspective. i'm not a connoisseur of dancing, tho, but this one is very expressional and for that matter it fits in quite good. think about how hayley often stretches the words or gives them a specific connotation of joy, grief or any other emotion to express vulnerability, courage and so on. it's what gives her voice the effect of immediacy, like in a play at the theatre. and dances at the theatre have something in common with the one in this video. i don't think this is a coinsidence.
@poeticsparrow7 жыл бұрын
I agree, she looks like she is rehearsing for a musical theatre production - especially with the repeated moves and it's probably an ensemble number so some of the oddness is because the other dancers are missing - also, I think the final part with the spotlight is supposed to be her imagination of what it feels like to be actually preforming on stage - so the point is the song inspires passion for her art
@Deleteriously6 жыл бұрын
Or you may "need" to just enjoy the freedom of having an opinion that doesn't mesh with every other opinion on earth.
@DarthClyan5 жыл бұрын
Judo Randori the problem with today's art is, that opinions somehow matter more than artistic disciplines. Which is the reason for why modern art literally can be anything, from a toilet on the street to a canvas covered completely in black paint. The idea that personal expression or opinions are a good measurement for art is inherently defective. Until you understand that you have to enjoy shallow videoclips with people shaking their oversized butts and bragging with their material wealth like expensive cars and tasteless jewelery. Have fun with that
