He was too good to be on a stage at any given time, people probably wouldn't even know how to appreciate it in the way they should. I'm glad he kept off the stage and embraced his own mysticism and poetry in his own way, on his own.

i also always thought that the musician is more belong to recording room than being on stage. Rip uncle nick.

"You're rare, rare find. A troubled cure. For a troubled mind." Oh do I have someone in mind when I hear those lyrics and this song. It's interesting, the people that come into your life; interesting is just one of the many great ways to describe this person. You also can't be sure just how long they'll be in your life either. Whatever they are doing now, I hope life is treating them with all the love, kindness and happiness it has to offer, and that that their dreams, their goals are being met. This song puts me at ease whenever I think of them, and all of Nick Drake's wonderful music. I couldn't be more grateful for discovering them both.

If anyone wants to hear more of Nick's speaking voice which sounds eerily like Prince Charles he recorded himself talking after getting home drunk from a party late one night, just search "Nick Drake morning monologue" and it will be on KZbin. That's the only time I've really heard him speak more than a few words in the studio like here.

Wow, I can't adequately express my gratitude to you for posting this. You know how music can be so exquisitely beautiful that it makes you feel a type of sacred pain? This one does it for me. Sometimes I have to tap out so that I can avoid sobbing while driving😍.

He says 'Sorry, got the tempo wrong'. I was thinking that he was then going to play the slow version on the record, then proceeds to play it at exactly the same tempo. I could never figure that one out.

Unfortunately you have mistaken being perceptive with being wise. Wisdom would have saved Nick. Wisdom is the application of self-knowledge and worldly knowledge in day to day living. He either would have been able to handle performing to allow him to achieve the recognition he deserved or he would have just said 'bollocks to it' and wrote songs living a quiet life. It's very rare that anyone of Nick's age as he was at that time has the sense of perspective required to be wise.

@@robmaddison8645 You say that, as if every IS-BE should strive to seek the same things you do. Some of us don't care or have other plans in mind. Circumstances do at times, have a way of forcing us to make certain decisions. Which are just as valid, there's no absolute answer as to how one should live their life. The soul is the one that ascribes meaning after all.

@@robmaddison8645 If there were to ever be an overarching meaning for the collective, it would be to destroy the machine known as malevolence. And replace it with a Grand Tree, whom we appropriately named "Benevolence".
@robmaddison86453 жыл бұрын
@Otis Dorr8 despite your response, wisdom is undoubtedly achieved through experience. That was my point. An intuition that the sum total of people do things wrong is not wisdom. Wisdom is the effort to improve oneself, or those around you, in the working against folly and fallacy.

the lesson learned we are..... that takes us......heard we are.... that no one sees... is us that speak and want to be heard... does any one hear.....what we speak....do you hear.... what is said.....that we say..... are we not like us at the beginning of us that sang and spoke what no one listened to... that some learned to love.... the song we sang... that all learned to love...... yes time repeats...... us.......time plays us to be what we are no longer.......... listen..
