Genshin Players call Character Events as Banners and they change every 30 days or so. There are two types: The limited and the standard. Limited is limited time while standard is permanent. The yellow is good because it means you got a rare item/character. HOWEVER, that rare item can either be from the limited or from the standard. (I know, a dumb yet effective marketing strategy. A permanent item having a chance to be obtained through a limited time event.)

If he killed Azhdaha, the power blast from killing him likely would have leveled a huge part of Liyue lol that's the whole reason Zhongli seals the other gods he fights away instead of killing them. You see in his first story that the salt god, despite being so weak, turned so many people to salt when she died when the power inside of her released from her mortal form when she died. If a weak god like her caused that much damage, how much destruction do you think an earth elemental dragon like Azhdaha would cause? How much damage do you think Osial would cause? Letting him erode and fade away on his own was literally the safest way to go more than likely, Zhongli likely did not wish this upon his friend, but he had to prioritize the safety of the people of Liyue over his friend whose mind was eroding and causing him to lash out and attack the people.
