I always have trouble with the mid-tones. I sometimes don't know what PS or LR consider mid-tones. In your first example in the video, highlights and shadows are easy but knowing what PS sees as mid-tones is not as obvious to me. Is there anything in PS or LR that shows where the mid-tones fall in an image? I often just color grade the highlights and shadows and not mess with mid tones but I always think I'm missing an opportunity by doing so.

I see the power of ACR Color Grading yet doesn’t SplitToning serve the same purpose for S and H. Thanks for sharing.

You are welcome. Yes it does. If you only want split toning just leave off the mid tone adjustment.

After watching your tutorial I realize I’m probably a little heavy handed with my color grading. Did you start with linear profiles on these images?
