I got one. A great device. It captured my accident and put a red check mark so it won't automatically erase. dash cam is crystal clear. I figure its going to take a bit to learn my voice because it can't understand certain commands. But I feel it will adjust. Truly a great unit.

Just upgraded from the 700 to the 710 without the camera though because my 700 wouldn't quit lagging,shutting down,low memory issues and recently told me it couldn't calculate route after it had already been calculated. I eventually got it to work after parking and restarting the device and has been working since but I think its about done. Sadly it only lasted just over a year so I'm hoping this one last longer since the software layout seems different than the 700 maybe theres improvements to it or at least i can hope. I do know garmin will replace devices out of warranty with refurbished ones for a smaller price than buying new but I've never had good luck with anything refurbished but to anyone who might need the option its there.

Sorry to hear you were having all sorts of problems with the OTR 700. Did you speak with Garmin? Maybe they had some way of helping with that? But either way, we think the 710 is a better choice anyway. Because it includes the dash cam. We love it! Hopefully it will perform well for you for many years to come! Thank you for this video. I am finally trashing my Garmin 52. What a piece of crap it turned out to be. I bought a brand new memory card over 500 GB and this thing will record minute long videos all day clogging up the memory card until it took a crap and now it doesn’t even power on past the Garmin logo just keeps restarting itself. I’m going to order one of these on Amazon thank you.

I don't think it worth paying 1.5 k for a 10' 1000 version/model of this Dezl which has literally the same stuff as the 710/7' has with very minor differences, the 10's price doubles because of an extra 3' size screen nothing major regarding the changes between the 2!

@@AmandaT-vw1bi GoPro is a good idea. Lots of KZbinrs use GoPros. I just like that I can record and edit all in my phone. With GoPro he’ll need to download and edit in a different device. But he’ll have better editing program. And the new GoPros have a lot of shock absorbing so good for motion in truck. Either way is good. He can start with phone and then step it up when he’s ready. 😃

@@412hwc Oops. Kevin just informed me that I misunderstood him. Sorry. No, it does not record 24hours. We just bought a 256 mini chip. Let’s see how long it records. And if you record 30 second clips they start taking up room. Kevin did get app on phone. With wifi you can connect the phone or computer to download. We do not have wifi in truck. Still learning more about it ourselves. I’d like to use it for videos as well.

DEZL has better trip planning than the company ELD. Has voice command. We like the dashcam. Big screen. But Truckers path shows traffic and more truck parking. We use both. Haven’t tried the Rand.

What I would find useful Is if I could either grab the route and adjust graphically to one I chose, but also have the GPS run it against my truck parameters. Now sure that’s done manually using Motor Carriers Map and perhaps a secondary GPS. Traffic and weather especially radar and wind direction overlay is critical especially if driving solo. It would save time to see that data set in a heads-up display

I have the older diesel cam and I have but one question. How if the quality of the recordings. The old one has great resolution but there’s a distorted “warble/wobble” wave effect in the footage when replayed. It’s not just mine… it’s been documented by many. Hey there newbie! Congratulations on your new career! Yes, it can be confusing with so many options. We recommend biggest screen you can afford so it’s easier to see while driving, no matter where you mount it (which could change if you change trucks). Also easier to push the buttons. The models ending in 10 are newer and offer a bit more, like satellite image of destination (which you could look up on Google or Apple Maps). We like the dashcam addition for video and safety. They give you the fuel solution on your route. Sometimes it’s off route and doesn’t make sense. Then you just ask for a new one by sending a message. They will change it. Just don’t fuel up without their giving you a solution. Following the fuel solutions saves them money and comes back to you in profit sharing.

Personally? 2 things Ive never bought in 4 years of driving...a headset...(I dont believe in talking on the phone while driving, be it truck, car, or fricking bicycle) and the other is an overpriced truck GPS. I use my phone with Smart Truck Route 2, truckerpath including routing subscription, and Google for traffic and aerials, and a third opinion. That and obsessive compulsive trip planning lol. I somehow get by without dropping $500.
