I honestly think ya'll didn't do justice to this question (7.A In your understanding, why do you think certain elements of intimacy are defined as making love?) First of all I would love to have coffee with Barrack cause this question just blew my mind! This is what I think. There are many forms of intimacy yes, but why sex is labelled as making love is cause of the emotional, physical, spiritual connection that comes with it. I mean it's a beautiful thing and there so many points of connection that comes with it. I think that's why it's labelled as making love (well at least some form of it, cause then again the world doesn't qualify all kinds of sex as making love).

I totally agree with the lack of justice done to this question, I think they could have answered more concretely after thinking about it deeply for some time. That being said, yes on sex being labelled as making love because it is a connection that encompasses all levels of intimacy. To add on to that, I think it is also labelled that way because that is exactly what has been churned out through media. So when you think sex you will think making love even though that is not the entirety of it. Making love can be staying committed, healthy conflict resolution, taking accountability for your faults in the event of a misunderstanding etc. - literally creating and maintaining an environment of love.

The thing I observe here is that, are we misleading people who want to stand on the side of God as Christians professing how we love Him? I see lots of gray areas here, can the light mix with darkness? I don't mean Jules or either Ben and Wanjiru are darkness. Why are we standing in the world, yet we want to profess God. I believe there should be a clear line showing where we stand as Christians or actually bring in the lost. We are told we can't be lukewarm. It's either we are hot or cold for Him. I think growing old alone is lonely, like at the moment we may say yolo and I want to be childless,or single blah blah but once you grow old you'd miss to have someone, the kids will grow and move out, they'd get busy with their life (single moms and dads especially if you choose to remain single). I've seen it with my grandparents, they got separated in their early 40's and now that they are old and alone they are miserable that it shows in their eyes...as opposed to the other grandparents that are together ( they have life and like active not like our separated ones). Because they separated ones keep looking for company either from their kids by always wanting to live with them or have us grandkids sent to them so at least they have chaos to deal with apart from their misery, but when we leave it's back to being sad and miserable till next Christmas. Now imagine being single with no kids and growing old , with only pension money. I think it's only better in the U.S with homes for the elderly where you'd be taken care of and still have your kids visit you. Studies show that the visited ones are happier than those with kids or at least family members visiting or friends. Now here back home, you have no one, no kids, not enough money to get to a home at least...Sad. I don't think God intended for us to be alone, we are social beings we need people in our lives. Growing old alone looks miserable and it's worse if you don't have money and have to depend on other people. I also think that since social media is big now, if you decide to grow old alone you'd turn to maybe your followers for companionship and their validation and since it's a volatile space it'll not always be mellow and sunshine. Even fathers and nuns have each other. Not unless one decides to join the seminary, let's not want to be alone at the very least let it be by unavoidable circumstances/reasons.
