The lab partner thing is all too common in college. It happened to me in my chemistry labs on multiple occasions and it’s infuriating. They don’t value your input and never believe you are right and just look to get in your pants. I feel for the girl and I hope she got a better lab partner.
@kaitlynruiz47082 жыл бұрын
My best friend and I were put in a lab group together with two other guys. We were working in a specific project for a week and they wouldn't let us touch anything the entire time. Our group fell incredibly far behind because they weren't the brightest. The day that both of them didn't show up to class my friend and I were to get almost the entire project finished and got caught back up in the class. Both of us had a higher grade then the guys did but they still thought we were too dumb to do the project. It was an infuriating experience.
@mbosso5582 жыл бұрын
@@kaitlynruiz4708 I truly feel for you, and this is likely the reason more women don’t go into stem. It’s exhausting to not be taken seriously and belittled especially when you’re proven to be smarter. I had a full lab group of men one time and every time I would give them the answer they would tell me I was wrong. As a result I had to constantly call the TA over to confirm I was correct.

Am I the only person who eats Mac and cheese with a fork? 😳 some soups, cereal, and things like ice cream are the only times I use a spoon…also small spoon and small fork always. For cereal I’ve always just let my cereal get a little wet by the milk, eat all the cereal before it’s soggy, then drink the milk out of the bowl.

You won't raise an incel because Christian will be showing that he respects and values Erika as the smart, capable woman she is. That she is better a certain things than he is. That she makes smarter decisions on certain things. That level of respect seeps down. I knew how much my dad respected my mother's intellect, listened to her, took her advice. I learned how capable she was and how being a woman didn't matter in the end, her personhood did. Be the mirror for your son. 🤷♀️

How do you have a best friend since KINDERGARTEN and not find the idea of plantation weddings to be disgusting?! Like, youve had someone sooo close to you in your life for soo long that you should never have even gone “ooou what a beautiful place”. Teach consent FROM DAY ONE! That's how. A lot of predators like this don't understand what consent even is. They will confess to the legal definition of rape and then not understand why they are in jail because that's how they have sex. Look up how to talk about boundaries when you learn about body parts and their names. Don't force them to hug people.

The last one may be fake but the thing is that there's unfortunately plenty of real dudes who act just like that, I've dealt with them. One guy in my course thought that I must be the one because I said hi once and looked in his general direction. He wound up following me around the small campus and tried to ask me out, only leaving me alone when I lied and said that I had a boyfriend. It was terrifying. I loved Christian's reaction to that. My teen stepson has friends who are budding incels and it's so gross. I think that a big part of the problem is that those kid's parents are likely sexist and racist themselves and they also don't pay attention to what their kids are doing. Our kiddo does not have full privacy on his phone and he games in the living room unlike his friends who game in their bedrooms. So when our kid has said inappropriate things (that he didn't really know what they meant) while gaming, we were able to crack down on it unlike other parents. Christian and Erika, your son will see how well you treat each other and learn how to to treat a partner and others. I know you'll parent in an emotionally healthy way unlike other parents. ❤

see i’m not a big spoon or little spoon person, im a heavy or light type of person. if it’s heavy i will cry and it just feels icky to me. but if it’s light then it’s for me aha. there’s certain spoons and forks i use that just feel perfect in my grasp (think of it like goldilocks), but i will riot if i can’t eat without them. don’t get me wrong tho if i’m out somewhere then i don’t necessarily care, but at my home it’s a different story

teach kids consent from a young age. if someone doesn't wanna share their toy? that's ok! that's their toy and you have toys over here to play with. you or someone else doesn't want a hug? perfectly ok! you don't have to open yourself to physical touch if you don't want to. it's super simple but the lesson goes such a long way. especially the toy part.
