The fact that the cop said that the guy didn’t fit his idea of an addict makes my blood boil. What kind of prejudice is that damn

I'm pretty sure it's a fake story, but if not, then the person's perspective of pot smokers comes from 90's anti-smoking ads.
@omegaskittles15513 жыл бұрын
@@HumanPerson_final even fake, Ive heard the stereotypes so many times in crossfit gyms that a lot of cops went to

Also, one of the most frustrating stories I ever read on AITA was this dude who hated how his girlfriend dressed for work. She was a preschool teacher and would dress like Ms. Frizzle. She'd dress in outfits that included whatever they were studying(like a planet dress and a matching mask) . A lot of the outfits she'd make herself and she'd make matching face masks with it. He got roasted by everyone on reddit.

The fake cop story is so terrifying because that simple abuse of power (a "wellness check" on someone trying to break up with you) is something a lot of domestic partners of cops have to deal with. Eventually the "small" abuses become bigger and bigger until it's their entire department covering up the ex's "suspicious death" because the cop is a "good guy" and the thin blue line protects it's own

Though maybe people don’t understand the banter Josh and Christian have around the “not all men” stories lol. Keep up the good work! Love you Judgies!!!

Okay, but the second story was so weird. He got a welfare check on her because her hardworking, nice roommate smokes some pot while dealing with all the studying he has to do to become a psychiatrist? Okay. Also, the way the dude talks about his friend, "now he has to drive trucks!" And what's wrong with that? He's earning an honest living! And him saying that Jared didn't fit what he believed an addict to be. That just says to be he has a racist and/or classist perception. Not to mention, not everyone who smokes pot is an addict. Hell, some people need it for medical reasons.

I've somewhat looked up why smoking pot was viewed as being bad and it is due to the racism towards Mexicans. This further stigmatized the Mexicans and Natives who used pot as being indecent druggies (this was during the great depression era). It's so weird to just find out more about it.

I agree that we need to defund the police and that people who become cops in this current environment of the law enforcement are part of the problem but I'm also scared of what'd happen if we had nobody to "protect" us. It's weird cuz I personally get scared the second I see a uniform but they're also the first person I run to when I feel unsafe in public. Maybe we should just have a Biker Force where a local gang just goes around making sure nobody's in trouble since they're more morally sound than these self-righteous pigs. 😂

I was with you till you said addicts don’t have a choice, the first time you pick up a needle it was your choice. You know what it does. But if we’re talking about pharmaceuticals I do completely agree, you are given those drugs by a doctor, someone you would generally trust to help better you. Not prescribe you something that will fuck your life
@TheJudgiesPodcast3 жыл бұрын
I think you should rethink your position on drug use and understand a lot people who suffer from addiction didn't have as much of a "choice" as you may think
@juliewietholter26383 жыл бұрын
You've never had a real conversation with an addict, have you? Thinking like this continues to stigmatize addiction and discourages addicts from getting help. I would read about how mental health and poverty contribute to addiction, and do some research outside that as well
@annahuff92623 жыл бұрын
Its very common for people to be given prescribed drugs that lead to the drug abuse you're talking about. Imagine you spend months on pain relievers til the point of addiction and then its gone. Now the only access you have is street drugs. To say that every addict is to blame for their addiction is ignorant, you're ignoring the many variables involved in such a complex topic.
