If you happen to go more up north, be cautious not to travel by night because the highway leading to Bangui windmills to Pagudpud have no streetlights, the road is totally in darkness and few cars pass by that route or none at all.

You could've seen a Spanish-European Manila city today if it were not bombarded to rubble during WW2. Just look an intramurous, the whole Manila used to be like that..
@noelgalang43085 жыл бұрын
This brings back memories to me. Me and my mates used to do this northern Philippine escapade in the 90s. Missing Philippines so much. Baguio, Vigan, La Union, Laoag, Pagudpud, Batac, Paoay, Patapat Viaduct. A huge thank you for doing this vlog. Walking thru streets of Vigan brings you back to The Philippines during Spanish colonial time. That's how Manila looks like before it was bombed during world war ll. Most buildings and houses were influenced by Spanish architecture. Too bad most of the old buildings were torn down to replaced by modern buildings and malls. Unlike here in England, old buildings are protected by law. I took my 14 year old son last year in one of the museums (Ayala Museum in Makati ) in the Philippine and he was asking me why it looks like Europe and where are this buildings, he wants to go there. I said most of which were gone. I took him to Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar in Bataan. And he was amazed with all the old buildings and houses. I recommend that you go there. Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar is an open-air museum and heritage collection of houses in Bagac, Bataan, Philippines.

If you can, check out some of those older style houses. Some of these have survived decades of typhoons and earthquakes. VIGAN = LITTLE SPAIN . Former Philippine president Elpidio Quirino, the sixth President of the Philippines, was born in Vigan, at the former location of the Provincial Jail (his father was a warden); he resided in the Syquia Mansion. The entire city of Vigan was later inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage City after being declared as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is a member of the Organization of World Heritage Cities (OWHC). In May 2015, Vigan City was officially recognized as one of the New7Wonders Cities together with Beirut, Doha, Durban, Havana.

I hope that both vlogs will one day go on a historical tour, even just in Intramuros, National Museum, and Rizal Park. Take a well-rounded guide, like Carlos Celdran. A lot of your fans are Overseas Filipino Workers and migrants, and it would be great to show them these historical institutions and how they've improved over the years. Beyond the sunsets and beaches, you'll also develop a deeper appreciation of our culture and heritage; our forefathers sacrificed so much just so we all can enjoy what this country can offer.
