It's refreshing that you started off with your plants that need a little extra love, makes this so much more relevant and realistic and helps me not feel too bad about my plants that aren't doing their best

In terms of the waste paper bin, I have a Yucca in a cute basket. What I did was to put a plastic bin bag around the base of the pot inside the basket to prevent water from dripping through and leaking everywhere. Works for me! x

Your fishbone cactus WILL get huge. I bought a very small one last year and it's so big I've had to move it into my son's room.
@TheJungleHaven2 жыл бұрын
Ah amazing! It's grown a ton in the time I've had it to be fair, I'm just so impatient (I had to stop myself buying a big one I saw today). Fingers crossed it grows as quickly as yours!
@Lorenmcdee2 жыл бұрын
@@TheJungleHaven you can water it a lot more than you'd think since it's an epiphytic cactus, and my experience is that it can take a lot more light too. I'm glad you like it as much as I do! I love my fishbone and I'm ordering the fern leaf cactus (its cousin) in a few days because I've had so much success with it. I fed mine with foxfarm's Grow Big (I think that's the name - I've been calling it Grow Dammit the whole year) even in the winter and it did wonders, but I'm cutting back since it's getting TOO big until I make a macrame hanger. It's taking over my toddler's record player so I have to get it off the surface before I can start beefing it up again. Fern leaf cactus (aka shark tooth cactus) can get fronds about 6' long with like no effort so I'm going to be making a second macrame hanger for the other side of the window before it even arrives 😅

How do you get your plants to grow so quickly? How often do you use fertilizer? I have the watering, heat, and humidity down for mine but they still seem to grow so slowly
@TheJungleHaven2 жыл бұрын
It sometimes just depends on the genetics of the plant, but yes light, heat and humidity are key - I'm currently fertilising with Liquid Gold Leaf fertiliser every time I water during the growing season and I usually replace fertiliser with fishtank water or banana water over the winter months 💚

What do you give to your PPP and PWP to get so huge on so little amount of time?
@TheJungleHaven2 жыл бұрын
I've always kept the temperature and humidity fairly high for them both, which I think has definitely helped. I also water with either fish tank water or banana peel water fairly regularly. I did actually have my PWP down in my north-facing room for quite a while and she did well, but since I've brought her upstairs her growth's sped up a lot. Bright, indirect light is key! 💚

Syngonium Batik ?

I don’t mean for this to sound harsh or like criticism but if you isolate a plant due to pests you probably shouldn’t touch that plant and then proceed to touch the plants you’re isolating it from. Just a precaution. (I’m super guilty of not washing my hands between plants and therefore spreading pests)
