I may need surgery soon for a Valve sparing aortic root replacement. I’m in Massachusetts and looking for a great surgeon and high performing centers. Any ideas? And how successful is these procedures? Thanks

I like the idea of taking action when a person's aortic valve gets to be 5.0 cms instead of 5.5 cms like before, especially in an aorta that has experience progressive diameter increase. Why wait until the aortic valve gets to be 5.5 cms? The patient can have a better experience at 5.0 cms and if the diameter is increasing it's rather certain that it will get to 5.5 cms eventually.

This new procedure that seems to be getting some footing in the preventative heart care program, as well as a means to rejuvenate the aortic tricuspid valve through ultrasonic stimulation that allows for the weakening of calcification on the leaflets and offers the possibility of the valve to function normally again is very interesting to say the least. The company (Cardiawave) recently published its 6 month findings and trials at the TCT in the United States has shown a promising method to bring back life to calcified valves. What is your takeaway on this? ❤

I'll be waiting two years in Jan 2025 for open heart surgery to have waves replaced and repaired and I have an anurisum 5.1 and I can't get in hospital to have it all fixed plus I need a hip replacement
