Just had an Inspiris Resilia fitted at 52 (really didn't want to be dealing with blood thinners or noisy valves) - I'll be watching the data on these valves with interest :) - thanks for your videos.

My wife was a TOF baby, she had a pulmonic valve sewn in at 14, then a melody valve placed at 19, which lasted till she was 29 and at 12 weeks pregnant she got strep endocarditis. They did a baloon valvuloplasty on her, which allowed her to tolerate pregnancy and deliver two twins at the 35 week mark. Two days ago at approximately 4 months postpartum they placed at medtronic avalus valve, they could only fit a size 25 in but we are hoping it last a long time before have to have another ViV procedure.

My son has TOF-APV. Had a Hancock conduit at age 1. At 10 years old, a melody transcatheter valve. He is currently outgrowing his first Hancock conduit and will need a complete replacement soon. He is currently 13.

On valve you presented, could you PLEASE explain how it works !? I can understand that a preasure from left ventricle will open the valve, but how it fully close back to avoid regurcitation ? What features are in top leafs so it close at center, blood do not come back ?

The Tranquillo lab at UM is currently developing a growing pediatric valve sourced from fibroblasts. They currently experimenting in sheep models and short results shows the valve capacity for growth in sheep.

Hi i have a quick question im 29 and pretty much all my life ive been having palpitations and constantly feeling my heartbeat and recently theyve been getting more and more i ended up having scans and i found out i have a bicuspid aortic valve with severe regurgitation only 30% is going through normally and am needing valve replacement when i have the operation will it stop all these palpitations or will i still have them?
@Thekeyholeheartclinic5 ай бұрын
Thanks for this: palpitations may discontinue but depends on their nature Is your aorta dilated? Has an assessment been made regarding repair of valve?

Could you please explain this : the minim invasive procedure, how far it can go ? It is only for an isolated aortic valve replacement or it can be used for aortic root issue, or fix ascending aneurysm....
@Thekeyholeheartclinic7 ай бұрын
We can certainly perform minimal access aortic root surgery both for aortic valve and root replacement as well as aortic valve sparing root replacement where the aortic valve can be repaired (David Procedure)
@DavidRanalli7 ай бұрын
@@Thekeyholeheartclinic My heart surgeon at Northwestern in Chicago claims that I cannot do minimally invasive if my root is above 4.5cm (because he cannot do keyhole to replace the root). I'm at 4.4! Is this a rule across the board, or something his personal preferences as a surgeon?

@@Thekeyholeheartcliniccan the aortic root repair be performed with the keyhole surgery when I already have a mechanical aortic valve? Thank You Doctor. Your information is much appreciated.
@hunterhass04Ай бұрын
@@DavidRanalliif he can't do it then immediately get a 2nd opinion. If you've done any research on aortic root replacement and MIS then you should see that there is a surgeon at UT southwestern in Texas named Dr naleen doolabh and he performed the first aortic root and valve replacement with keyhole surgery using the new Edward conduit valve device. The lady's name was Shelly Tucker and her ascending root was 5cm. It was done with mini thoracotomy. I actually have the same exact diagnosis and same size aneurysm I just found out from echo last week so I'm looking into MIS because I know that it's possible and refuse to go through with open heart surgery if there's obviously a less invasive option. Anyways hope you're doing well, merry Christmas.

Hi doctor and thank you for the precious informations , regarding these new valves will there be a possibility to use them to replace the mitral valve ? or is there any mitral specific clinical trial currently . Thanks
@Thekeyholeheartclinic7 ай бұрын
There are equivalent valves for the mitral Position but the data is early and we await longer term verification of durability. If your mitral valve can be repaired then this is the better solution to replacement
@t-entertainment11866 ай бұрын
Hey doc thank you again for your reply, could you please do a review on the Foldax permanent valve? They've been using it in the aortic position for quite a while now and recently enrolled many patients for the mitral valve clinical trials. Thanks

Hey, loved the vibe🙌! I'm not really sure if it is the best time to ask but, I was wondering if I could help you create a better distribution by working on post-production like better storytelling through Edits, Keywords, think catchy intros and outros, or even some engaging short clips!
