White was destined for 3rd and made a desperation play, though I think they missed a possible 2nd. 1st may have been impossible, but they could've abandoned their god cap and sat on a shitty cap, letting red claim it and take 1st. Instead, they suied and got 3rd. That play might've worked if red also plowed you right after (which they tried to communicate with emotes), but alas

Near the end, what was the purpose of the locked 30 troops on Sicily. Was that a choke buffer if another player snowballed? Or a reserve stack in case you lost your main stack?

Great question So in this scenario red has four cards so likely a set (he did) and I have two so I definitely do not. If I had a set I would have made that play. What I instead wanted to happen was for red to step out onto the cap and feed me the white kill. If I took the cap the fear is he sets, takes it and still gets the white kill which would leave me quite weak unless I immediately follow up with a set on 3 I'm toast.

The Russia cheese troops seems kinda pointless to me. Even if red has russia those troops start pointing at someone in between you and red that potentially starts a war you aren’t involved in… and less troops for you to pump in to the snowball

The cap out there is the best single cap in the game so me maintaining a position out there for as long as possible slows down who's ever in there. It also gives me a chance to make kills on the other side of that cap. If red hadn't hit that maybe I'm able to look around for green when I needed it?

That was a really good game. First black didn’t put ANY troops on his cap. Pete schemed and sabotaged red's snowball with a very passive aggresive 10 stack (nothing new here). Pete went to war with white (I argue Pete physically choking and suffocating white should've been the videos thumbnail) Green and red, uhh... settled their differences. (Can't blame that one on Pete. The gun powder was clearing, and the blood was drying in that part of the map long before we got anywhere near Russia. And from what it looked like at the end, Magenta neighbor capped, but no one noticed because the game was practically over at that point. And then... Red sent 83 troops to their death grabbing one capital. Let's just say the celebration for the red team was VERY brief. No diplocmacy just bloodshed in this video.

The idea of a "Grandmaster" in Risk is pretty funny. Are Hasbro and SMG trying to push that nonsense to attract players? It would be even more hilarious if they're using the same type of ratings system as FIDE (a game where the concept of Grandmaster is actually meaningful).
