Hi Pete, I was the purple player here. I’ve only recently started playing Risk (about a month ago) because of your videos and it’s awesome to already be in one of your videos! I saw it immediately when I saw the map and the territories on the left, and I was like: holy shit, I’m in a video of Pete!!! 😊 It was also my very first time I played this map (I have seen a few videos of you in this map). My start was logical I think. I saw you take the bonus on the right side turn 1, so I had to remove your 3 on my side (and then turn your lights out as much as possible as I saw you were strong already) otherwise you might have put troops in there and then it would have been impossible for me to take any bonus and you would have been too strong right away. I don’t know if there was anything I could have done to beat you. Seeing the video now, on 14:00 I had no idea you had that bonus and only a 9 on the cap, otherwise I would have attacked you (but probably end up with a weak cap there though). I actually put all my troops to get the cap at the top left. The bots also didn’t help, giving you 3 caps very early 😊 At 15:30 you hit me hard, which was a great move, as I lost the bonusses, otherwise I would have pushed into you as I saw you got +25 on that turn. When it was my turn you said I needed to stop you, which was right indeed, that was my mistake, I focused too much on the 2 bonusses at the left and top to be able to hit you the next turn. But I don’t think it would have made much of a difference as you had a big cap there and you would have just hit me back very hard. And you played better, that’s probably the main reason :D I indeed went for the bot(s) kill at the end as it was my only hope to get anything out of it. But despite the outcome, I loved the game. And I learned a little bit too watching your video!

Spoiler alert: These settings do not have it to be the new Meta. They are so heavily spawn dependent. While on EU Caps you can snowball, you can also defend reasonably well vs a snowball if you are a good player. On Trigon's a good spawn overwhelms anything. Maybe you can prove me wrong, but I would be surprised.

I think I agree. For that reason and the fact that it's a non-geographic map so it will just be less compelling to less people. I don't see EU caps losing primacy any time soon.

@@TheKillPeteStrategy I still don't understand why you don't show more of the settings you do like. Don't get me wrong, I like Prog Caps EU adv, I watch Speedster and even the shorter JJ ones. But you did not show 1v1 rank ups - apart from the becoming #1 spain video - in the old ranking system. You showed Prog World Dom. They don't need to be viable to rank up, they are simply fun to play and improve people for tournament play. Do you think the audience would not like it as much?

I still think you can overcome the spawn on trigons with the fog and blizzard. It's a big enough map. Just a theory.

Stupid question for this map Why are the left bonuses worth 1 less then the right bonuses? While the center mini triangle has different connections on both sided and that one makes sense, the others seem to be the exact same

The whole map is slightly asymmetrical. Personally I think that makes it more interesting as a Risk map. We need things that cause tension and force action.

Hey Pete I got a question! I've started to play this game about 2 months ago and kept on watching your content. I found that the most important thing I've learned from you right at the start was to play mulitble positions at the start and make sure to let the other players fight each other and weaken themselves before taking action oneself. So my question: Is a 51:128 Win:Loss rate any good in this game for a first account? I mean its still not even close to 50% which might want to tell me I still got a long way to go to become any good. I've played a few games recently and am currently ranked at 12.468 (Expert) points whatever that is.

Feel this these settings are good enough for a ranking up at the higest level maybe if u play a 5/4 player but i feel everything is too tight and players end up way too close to each other the only time that happens in eu caps is when their is a blizzards involved but even then their is still good position avaliable for others. Just not enought bonuses to go around and not enough places to have a good cap stop without getting in others players way

I played the highest ranked lobby I ever have before (grandmaster, 3 masters, 2 experts, including me, currently ranked expert) on EU advanced caps. I was in a winning position and then pressed my advantage too hard into the second strongest player. How to you know when to go all out and when to hold back?

I like to play it predatory. Hunt for kills and take them when they're viable. Pick off my opponents one at a time

@@TheKillPeteStrategy yeah. I had a bit of bad luck too, I lost an 80% cap roll to kill an opponent on 5 cards, I did end up getting that kill but on 3 cards instead of 5, and after they pumped their set into me.

So you’ve made a comment in a few other videos about wanting a world dom victory instead of a caps victory. I know you had a caps victory this game, but it seems like you actively try to avoid it. Is this a personal preference or does it affect any game statistics?

Got the troop placement bug twice today. I like how there is no way to report it within the game. SMG is doing a great job with these bug fixes (that's sarcasm for those unfamiliar). But they can't sell bug fixes, so why bother.

Just played a casual, classic game (I'm a novice) and at the end it's only red, pink and me. Red had been messing with me all game, like he wouldn't let me join my troups, told me to attack pink when I had less troops than him (we were in an alliance), stacked in NA which I was trying to take... I had terrible spawns (some in asia, some in europe which i tried to take but blue wanted it as well, some in NA but red had 2 fours and white and pink had a 6). I was just trying to survive whole game. At the end, I was in an alliance with red and pink, but red ended it and attacked me but realised after he couldn't take me and if it was to pink, he would go first. He hits me til 7 troups, then proposes an alliance, like if he hit me enough, i'd be desperate enough to alliance??? At that point, neither of us was taking first but I sure as hell wouldn't help him take second so I refuse. He hits me to 4, but only has 20 something left. I'm still in alliance with pink and he gives me second🤣. It was such a frustrating game but such a satisfying end... Btw, thanks pete for getting me into risk again
