Pretty cool, can you use other fluids like oobleck or maybe soda?

Soda can’t be laminar due to the carbonation. And oobleck won’t flow trough the straws properly.

The difference between the color systems of light and paint is called "additive" or "subtractive" color. Subtractive color is the color system they teach you in elementary school with red, blue, and yellow primary colors. It works by taking pigments that, when hit by a white light, absorb all of the wavelengths in the color spectrum except for a range that is attributed to a particular color. When you blend different pigments, it further restricts the range to form different colors, "subtracting" the wavelengths. Eventually, adding enough different pigments will result in either brown (all pigments mixed together) or black (all wavelengths absorbed). Additive color is the opposite - instead of "subtracting" wavelengths, you are adding them together in the form of light sources that emit specific wavelengths. The primary colors are red, green, and blue, and when added together they make the secondary colors cyan (green and blue), magenta (red and blue) and yellow (red and green). If you keep blending colors, you eventually end up with white, which is all the wavelengths added together. (This is why "computer colors" are in RGB format, a.k.a. additive color, since your monitor uses light to display an image.)

Why you didn't use RGB LED instead of using 3 separate LEDs?

It’s the exact same thing.... RGB LEDS have three separate coloured bulbs too (sometimes they have four if they include an open white, those are called RGBW, RGB stands for Red, Green, Blue). If those 3 lights were on a dimmer system they could have made every colour of the rainbow too.

I would love to see a whole bunch of these put together to make a big laminar flow glow fountain. And attach something that disrupts the flow occasionally so you get to see colors riding along the stream.

Make paper using different materials? See which works best? Maybe make synthetic fulgurite and tektites? Maybe make glass by farming diatoms? Make recycled plastic stuff, I want to know if kneading plastic or pulling it like taffy makes it stronger. Maybe an exercise powered freezer board to make ice cream, burn calories to eat calories? I would like to see if there's a way to make structural colours at home (I know ice, salt and granulated sugar are structurally white, but it would be nice to try other colours, especially iridescent ones.)

I believe the effect of the laminar flow is brought about because of the near perfect roundness of the nozzle, however with further research into the fluid dynamics of laminar flow and Reynold's Number, I have no reason to believe it isn't possible.

VarietyGaming I assumed it was the straws inside the tube, as those help to remove the turbulence from the water.
@VarietyGaming

After speaking to somebody very well educated in fluid dynamics, it is absolutely possible, however due to the covalence of water, it would become round again after a short amount of time.
