I'd love to see some other oxidizers and chemicals mixed with the candy! Maybe potassium chlorate or something to change the flame color? Could be a neat way to make a safe, DIY pyrotechnic fountain! Also, it might be fun for you to try mixing the sulfuric acid and permanganate, since that produces manganese heptoxide, which is extremely reactive and basically auto-ignites whatever it touches. Great video, keep it up!

It really does need to be tested. My hypothesis is that the sugar contains the same amount of energy, so the gain in burn time will result in a loss somewhere else. My prediction is in how high/far the rocket flies.

She said it was strange how the mass of the piles of sugar stayed the same but actually that’s very normal. When you have a reaction, you can’t gain or lose mass so you’ll end up with equal reactants and products. The reason we don’t always see this is because is a product is a gas it can tend to just float away in the air unless you have a method to contain it

if you really wanna test the rocket fuels comparatively, you need to see how much gas they create from the same amount of fuel. there are plenty of channels that show examples of how to set up a test like that. compare how much gas is made and how long it took to burn away, and whichever produces a higher volume of gas in less time is the better fuel. a burn on a plate doesnt really show much in terms of viability as a rocket fuel. i also think it'd be interesting to test pixie sticks since they are mostly made of glucose (dextrose), should be a simpler sugar for the reaction to break down more quickly. candy hearts also contain dextrose, but there's also a bunch of corn syrup and binders as well, that might even be hindering the potential.
@maximilianmolnar1386

gas volume isn't everything. That's why they use aluminum powder in commercial SRBs. But it's some measure at least. Anything is better than nothing. As was shown here.
