I always had a soft spot for Sisi and could relate her struggle for belonging and wanting to keep her looks. I’m twenty years old, but I’ve been struggling with body and beauty issues since sixteen and didn’t eat very often and was obsessed with staying thin and beautiful as I was in a relationship with a twenty nine year old at the time.

It’s gotta suck to just be remembered as the sister of a famous beauty and the girl who was passed over as a bride. That said, Sisi’s life was generally tragic and miserable, so maybe Helena got lucky not having to marry into that family!

It must have been a Bavarian trait because King Ludwig of Bavaria, Sisi and her siblings had a distinctive squarish hairline. Sisi's sisters were also quite attractive. Ironically Helene and Sophie were fated to not marry their first marriage prospect.
