58 and so blessed to have lived during the British invasion, Motown, the birth of Southern Rock, and the boom of American rock. 60s and 70s were an amazing time for music. Classic Country was still being played as well as some of the 50s.

Whenever I see the Kinks playing numbers like this in old black and white videos, I always feel like they were somehow dropped into a timezone 30 years earlier than intended. What made this song great is how it was aggressive, rebellious, and went straight for the throat right from the beginning. It was done in an era when music like this was considered taboo by little Johnny's pearl clutching parents.
