Originally released on 23rd October 1964 in the UK and 9th December 1964 in the US. The track was included on the Kinksize Hits EP.
Lyrics:
I'm not content to be with you in the daytime
Girl I want to be with you all of the time
The only time I feel alright is by your side
Girl I want to be with you all of the time
All day and all of the night
All day and all of the night
All day and all of the night
I believe that you and me last forever
Oh yea, all day and nighttime yours, leave me never
The only time I feel alright is by your side
Girl I want to be with you all of the time
All day and all of the night
All day and all of the night
Oh, come on...
I believe that you and me last forever
Oh yea, all day and nighttime yours, leave me never
The only time I feel alright is by your side
Girl I want to be with you all of the time
All day and all of the night
All day and all of the night time
All day and all of the night

This was the $hit when I was 7 years old!!!!! It reached # 7 in the U.S. Of course they were dealing with all the other GREAT British groups on our charts. Namely The Beatles. Today's technology has brought the sound out the way we love it...LOUD!! I'm 62 now, and love rock and roll more than ever! And that's a lot!

Whenever I see the Kinks playing numbers like this in old black and white videos, I always feel like they were somehow dropped into a timezone 30 years earlier than intended. Amazing stuff and it must've been a great time to be young. I can't imagine how this must've sounded back then, at a time when the older generation were still coming to terms with Elvis.

What made this song great is how it was aggressive, rebellious, and went straight for the throat right from the beginning. It was done in an era when music like this was considered taboo by little Johnny's pearl clutching parents. This scorching anthem was defiantly wailing we are loud, proud, we make no apologies, and we're not taking any prisoners!
